Palworld: Pal Progression Guide | Blueprints, Leveling, Skills, and More

The Pals you acquire in Palworld can accompany you on your journey and help you out in many different ways.

Alongside your character, your Pals will also be able to progress in level, learn new skills, and get access to cool new items.

We have compiled a comprehensive progression guide for your Pals. This guide will help you progress your Pals, helping you build an army of formidable Pals.

Pal Progression Guide

Similar to your own character, Pals in Palworld can level up and get stronger. As you defeat more enemies and progress through the game, your Pals will gain XP and level up.

You can speed up the leveling up process by instead focusing on capturing more Pals. The game gives you more XP when you capture a Pal instead of killing it. XP you earn this way is divided among the Pals in your party at the time.

You can capture 10 of each Pal before they start giving less XP. The Pals you capture this way will also help you out in the future. The size of the Pal doesnt matter when doing this, as all kinds of Pals will give you a lot of XP when captured.

Learning New Skills

As your Pal levels up, it will learn new skills. You will get a notification of this on your screen when it happens.

Another way your Pal can learn new skills is through skill fruits. You can find skill fruits in Palworld on a specific kind of tree in the game. The image above shows what the tree will look like, and what the fruit on it looks like.

You can simply pick up these fruits, and they will give you a certain skill for a type of Pal. This skill can then be applied to the Pal you want it on. Fruits on these trees will respawn after a certain time, so you can always come back later on.

The skill you get from the fruit is also completely random, you can get a skill for any element type in the game. If you dont have a Pal of that type, you can always just store the skill for later use.

Upgrading Pal Stats

Other than learning new skills, you can also upgrade your Pals stats. For this, you need to learn how to make the Statue of Power from the ancient technology points you earn in the game.

The Statue of Power allows you to upgrade your Pals max HP, attack, defense, and work speed. The statue will require you to have Pal souls if you want to upgrade your Pals.

The souls you can acquire in Palworld can be in 3 different sizes or types. The souls come in large, medium or small. Earlier on you will only get small souls, but as you progress through the game, you will start earning larger souls.

Learning about Ancient Technology and the Statue of Power will surely help you understand these mechanics more.

Blueprint Upgrades

Alongside the various structure and base upgrades in the technology tab, you will also be able to acquire blueprints for Pal items. These items will give your Pals additional abilities. The items highlighted in the picture above are examples of different Pal items you can unlock.

What the items can do varies a lot. Some of the items allow you to use your Pals to ride on, and some others improve their combat prowess.

Pal Essence Condenser

Another ancient technology upgrade that can help you boost your Pals strenght is the Pal Essence Condenser. Similarly to the Statue of Power, you can unlock this item through the ancient technology column in the technology tab.

The Pal Essence Condenser is a very valuable item when it comes to upgrading your Pals. You can upgrade a specific Pal by combining 4 other Pals of the same type with it. Doing this will result in a stronger Pal than the one you put in the condenser.

The upgrades aren’t the biggest, but you can do this multiple times with the same Pal. So, once you have upgraded a Pal with 4 different Pals, you can do the same process again for an even bigger upgrade. The upgraded Pal will have boosted stats and will be much stronger.
