Building and upgrading your base is a core aspect of Palworld. The game allows you to build a base for yourself, and your Pals.
As you progress further into the game, you will be able to build a better base with the resources you collect along the way.
One of the first upgrades you can do regarding your base is upgrading the Palbox base level. This guide will look at what you need to do to upgrade your base from level 1 to level 2, and what you get from upgrading your base in Palworld.
How to Upgrade Your Palbox Base to Level 2
To upgrade your base, you will need to complete 2 tasks related to your base. You have to build a wooden chest and deploy a work pal to your base. Completing both of these will allow you to upgrade your base and earn the base level up reward.
Building a Wooden Chest
To build a wooden chest, you have to first unlock it from your technology tab. The wooden chest is an essential early game item and you should be able to unlock it with just 1 technology point.
Once unlocked, you can build the chest using 15 pieces of wood and 5 pieces of stone. Other than needing it to upgrade your base, it can also help you manage your inventory better.
The wooden chest will be able to hold the items you pick up on your journey throughout Palworld.

Deploying a Work Pal to Your Base
Pals in Palworld can help you out in a number of things. Other than fighting other trainers and Pals, Pals can also help you out in your base by doing tasks there.
Placing a work Pal in your base is very straightforward. You will need to drag a Pal from your party or box and place them into the slot designated for “Pals at the base”. Your Pal will now help you out when it can.

Once you have made a wooden chest and placed a Pal at your base, you will be able to upgrade your base from the menu.
Reward for Upgrading Your Base
The first upgrade will get you one additional work slot for Pals at the base. As you upgrade your Palbox further, you will gain access to more work slots and the ability to have more Palboxes. This allows you to have additional bases in different places.
