Ark: Survival Ascended is a dinosaur survival game from Studio Wildcard. There are almost 60,000 servers online at the time of writing and more are being added daily. So it’s safe to say that it’s important to learn how to control these servers effectively.
There are a lot of players that go into random servers and chaos havoc. Using a simple “ForceJoinTribe” code and kicking or banning the unruly players will help you maintain order on the server.
There are various codes you can use as an admin of the server. Most of these are used to let you maintain order or just have a little bit more fun.
We’ll teach you some of the best admin commands you can use to control any server to your liking!
The 10 Most Useful Admin Commands
The best way to exercise your control over servers is to use the handy admin commands, or cheats, present in the game. There are plenty of these, so naturally some are more useful than others. We’ve organized our 10 favorite admin commands in a list for you below.
To get access to the console commands bar, be sure to toggle “Console Access” to “ON” in your in-game settings. You can find this in the “Advanced” settings section.
After enabling this, you will be able to access the command bar by pressing the “~” key on your keyboard. You can find this on the left of your “1” button, above the “Tab” key and below the “Escape” key. On consoles, press the left menu button for Xbox controllers, and the left options button for PlayStation controllers.
10. EnableCheats
While this isn’t the most exciting cheat on the list, it is one of the most important. The “Enable Cheats” command allows you to enter admin mode. This is necessary to do so you can access all the other cheats in the game.
It’s extremely simple to use, all you have to do is enter “enablecheats” followed by whatever you want your password to be.
And that’s it, as easily as that you can now use all the cheats you want in your Ark multiplayer server.
9. ForceJoinTribe
The next command on the list is the cheat called “ForceJoinTribe”. What this allows you to do is to essentially join the tribe of anything in the game. This includes players, structures, and even dinosaurs.
All you have to do to use this command is hover your reticle, or aim, at the object you wish to join the tribe of. Then you just type “cheat ForceJoinTribe”.
This becomes useful if anything is giving you trouble in the game, you can just join their tribe. This allows you to become an admin of other tribes as well, so you can kick or ban players of other tribes who are being a nuisance.
8. GCM
This is by far one of the most game-changing cheats in the entire game. GCM stands for “give creative mode”, which just means that you will be entering Ark’s version of god mode. In this mode, you have the ability to craft every item in the game without using any resources.
You also have the maximum level of every stat, meaning that you can never be killed and that you deal absurdly high damages to others. This can be useful if you need to quickly deal with an issue that’s bogging down your server for you or the other members.
If all this isn’t enough, if you double tap “Spacebar” or the jump button in creative mode, you will be able to fly. This flight is extremely fast, and you can do it for an infinite amount of time. It also works underwater, and you can fly as high as you want. You don’t need to worry about fall damage either, as creative mode removes that entirely.
To access creative mode, you just have to input “cheat gcm” and you’re done.
7. CCC
One of the more underrated cheats in the game, this is something that even non-admins can use. It is very useful as it allows you to see your exact X, Y, and Z coordinates in the game. You can then send this to your friends as you play with them to make navigation and finding each other much, much easier.
To use this cheat just enter “ccc” in the console command bar.
This can also be especially true if you’re an admin and someone reports a user breaking some rules. You can use these coordinates to instantly teleport there to take care of the situation.
6. ForceTame
This is one of the more self-explanatory cheats on this list. All it does is let you tame any creature in the game immediately, as long as you point your reticle at it. There is also the “AoE” or area of effect version of this cheat. This version allows you to tame all the dinosaurs in a set amount of area around the player.
To use this cheat, input “cheat ForceTame” for the default version. “Cheat ForceTameAOE” followed by a number for the AOE version.
This is more of a single-player cheat than a multiplayer one, but a very useful one regardless. Next time you see a cool dinosaur, use this to instantly tame it without having to go through the arduous process of capturing it.
5. DestroyFoliage
This is one of the more complex cheats to use, as it requires two additional parameters after writing the cheat. It’s nothing too complicated, however, and we will be explaining exactly how you can use it in this guide.
Put simply, this cheat allows you to destroy all the foliage around in a set radius. By adding a “1” at the end you can choose to have all of this foliage inserted into your inventory. Alternatively, by writing “0” you can choose to waste it so it doesn’t clog your inventory up.
To use this cheat, enter “cheat DestroyFoliage”. Then, enter your first number which represents the radius that this cheat will affect. Now comes your second and last number, which will determine what happens to the destroyed foliage.
Clearing foliage can help you terraform areas, or you can use it to increase performance in an area. Be sure to not enter too large of a radius at once, because that can lag out your game and maybe even crash it. Sometimes this command can take a bit of delay to actually do its job, but all you have to do is be patient.
Similarly to the previous command on our list, DestroyWildDinos kills every wild dinosaur in a radius. It excludes all of your tamed creatures so you don’t need to worry about killing any of your precious dinos. This does not work in a radius, and will just kill all the dinosaurs on the map.
This command can be very useful when the spawns in an area are unfavorable. After its execution, the game respawns dinosaurs randomly allowing you to get better dinosaurs. Sometimes when there are too many smaller dinosaurs in an area, bigger and better ones may not spawn.
To use this command, type “cheat DestroyWildDinos”. Keep in mind that this command does not take a radius, so be careful when using it as it can be quite destructive.
3. RenamePlayer
This is another cheat that takes multiple inputs when writing, but it’s easier to understand and more fun to use. It allows you to rename any player in your server to anything your heart desires. This cheat has some practical applications, but can also be used in humorous ways to have fun with your friends.
The practical applications might include changing the name of a player using offensive language in their names. You can also change someone’s name if it’s too similar to another player’s name and causes confusion.
However, you could also use this to mess with your friends. By renaming yourself to something else temporarily, you could get away with potentially ‘griefing’ one of your fellow server members. Be sure to use this ability only in good-spirited fun though, as it’s not good gaming courtesy to destroy other people’s structures or dinos.
To use this command, type in “cheat RenamePlayer”. After that, type the current name of the player who you want to edit. Then, type their new name. Alternatively, you could use “cheat RenamePlayerId” to change people’s names based on their player ID instead of their name.
2. DestroyTribe
This next cheat is more of a set of cheats than a standalone one. By typing “DestroyTribe” followed by what you want to destroy, you can kill or break down any objects belonging to any tribe.
You can use this to destroy structures along with killing players and dinos. You can either aim at what you want to kill, or you can just type its ID in. This is a very powerful and useful ability as you can probably guess, and can have disastrous consequences when used effectively.
To use this cheat, enter “DestroyTribe” into the command box and you will be able to see all of the different versions of this cheat. Use whichever one you need, and be sure to enter the ID of objects you cannot aim your reticle at.
1. SaveWorld
SaveWorld is a very powerful command, it allows you to save an exact copy of your current server’s world. If you need to reboot your server or exit it, be sure to run this first as it will allow you to load this version of the world.
To use this command, just type “cheat SaveWorld” and you’ve backed up your server for future access.
