The Finals: Advanced Movement Techniques Guide

Traverse through the maps with ease!

on

The Finals incorporates a number of parkour mechanics into its gameplay that adds an action-packed edge to the first-person shooter experience.

The game will see you traversing a map riddled with traps, explosions and opponents ready to shoot.

Hence mastering the traversal mechanics will really give you an edge and help you survive.

Advanced Movement Techniques Guide

Players can make use of gadgets like the Jump Pad, the Zipline and movement skills like the Dash ability to traverse through the map with ease.

You can read our Best Gadgets Tier List to see which gadgets might work for you.

Most players already know about these movements. This guide is going to show you how to advance those core mechanics, to create innovative movement techniques that really throw off your opponents.

Jump Pads On The Wall

In the game, you can place Jump Pads on the ground to spring up onto the roofs of buildings. However, they can also be placed on walls.

Running and jumping into them will send you flying in the opposite direction. Placed strategically, this will let you zig-zag whole sections of the map with ease.

Mounting the jump pad The Finals

A more advanced technique is placing the Jump Pad halfway between the ridge of a climbable ledge.

Rather than jumping at it, initiate a mount as though you were climbing on top of it.

Then before fully climbing on top, spin the camera around and jump – by being halfway in a mount, you will get launched even further!

Laying a 2nd Jump Pad The Finals

You can layer this move further by placing a second jump pad just after before you land. This will let you really gain some distance from an opponent.

Dash into your Jump Pad

Another move involving the Jump Pad, this time you’ll want to have the dash ability selected for light build characters. Before launching from the Jump Pad, dash into it slightly beforehand.

This will send you flying even further through the sky and let you reach higher buildings than your opponents!

You can even finish the launch off with a second dash to get a final push towards your landing point, or reach points otherwise inaccessible.

Climbing For Heavy Builds

Most of these advanced movement techniques don’t work to the same extent when playing as the heavy build. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t still reach rooftops.

Climbing up ledges

You might not know that window ledges are climbable. You simply look up at the ledge, initiate the jump and climb up.

This can be rinsed and repeated as many times as needed until you reach the rooftop.

Leap Out The Window, Then Dash Back In

A lot of the time in The Finals, you’ll find yourself in a scrap with another player inside a building. A quick way to escape these is by jumping out of a window to safety.

However, what your opponent probably isn’t expecting is for you to quickly spin the camera back around, hit the dash button and fly back in.

This will let you catch an opponent off-guard, and if you have a high damage weapon equipped potentially take them out in one swoop.

Sliding Off Obstacles

This final movement involves using the slide technique. When climbing over an obstacle, or dropping down from one, you’ll want to quickly slide into it before making the fall.

This works especially well if it’s the corner of an obstacle.

The length of the slide means you’ll move further than simply falling off or leaping over the obstacle.

These advanced techniques are great for getting a slight edge over your opponent. They can offer up some unique gameplay opportunities and even let you sneak in a kill if used correctly.
