With the release of Atelier Ryza 3 just a few days ago, players are trying to come up with ways how to maximize their skill tree. Unlike other Atelier games, the game’s skill tree is huge, so it can be overwhelming for newcomers to the franchise as to which skills to obtain first.

Even those who played the previous installments might find it confusing at first. After all, despite some features from previous games making a comeback, a lot of new ones were introduced as well.

If you’re one of them, then this guide will show you which skills to prioritize as soon as you can.

The skill tree in Atelier Ryza 3 is designed in a way that it splits into four different directions from the center. Each of them will unlock a certain upgrade category. However, one thing remains the same: each will unlock certain item recipes.

To easily understand the game’s skill tree, we’re going to use directions as a guide.

Skills in the upper section focus on alchemy upgrades while the lower section focuses on SP upgrades and some recipes for armor and weapons. Meanwhile, the left section contains upgrades for gathering, and the right section covers recipes for consumables.

Once you unlock a skill node, it will reveal all connected nodes to it. However, the further you go, the more expensive they are to unlock.

That said, you want to focus on obtaining the first four abilities which are as follows:

  • Medica Powder
  • Onyx Blade
  • SP Gain +10%
  • Gathering: Quantity Boost Lv. 1

The first two skills will unlock their respective recipes which you’ll need to progress the story. In order of importance, you’ll want to pick SP Gain +10% as it can make a huge difference in your progress. You can then follow it with the recipes and the quantity boost last.

After the first four, you’ll then want to unlock Emerald Band as you’ll also need it to progress later on.
