Almost every FPS player has encountered this problem in one way or another. Playing a session of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 with inputting each movement that transmits a slight delay and ends up missing most of your shots or getting killed in a firefight immediately because your character can’t move as fast as your controls.

Fixing input lag on a PC is slightly easier since the hardware has been there for years. But fixing the issue on the new PS5 console is a bit daunting if you don’t know how to do it.

If you are having input lag issues on the PS5 and are looking for solutions, look no further because we’ve got You Covered in this Walkthrough on how to fix input lag on just about any game, especially on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

How to Fix Input Lag on PS5 for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

In our humble opinion, call of duty modern warfare 2 can’t be played when you have input lag. This game is a shooting game and having a slight delay on your movement or controls can be very frustrating and at times, game-breaking especially with many things happening on your screen and you need to act fast or get killed.

Sure, you can compensate for the slight delay by taking the delay into your calculations and lining up your shots or timing your movement to match the delay, but that’s not how this game is meant to be played so you need to tweak those settings to get rid of the issue.

To keep things simple, we will be breaking down the things you have to do to fix your lag input on the PS5.

Video Settings (ALLM)

Press the PlayStation button to take you to the Home screen and go to the settings tab. Select the video settings and select the ALLM tab.

Auto Low Latency Mode Settings

This stands for auto-low latency mode where your display tries to compensate for latency issues that could cause input lag. If you are playing call of duty on a TV then it might not support ALLM at all but don’t worry.

Setting this mode to automatic will reduce Input Lag even when not supported by your TV screen.

Accessories (controller communication method)

Another method to reduce Input Lag is checking your controller communication. It’s a known fact for gamers that using your controller via Bluetooth will give you latency issues which affect the transmission of controller commands to your console that results in a slight delay.

Switching from Bluetooth to a USB cable is the best solution but this won’t take effect if you don’t set the communication method to USB cables.

Once you plug in your controllers via USB, head over to the accessories tab and select the controller tab and open up the controller Communication method option.

Select a USB cable as the method for your controller Communication for your controller to use the cable instead of Bluetooth.

Some controllers do not auto switch to cable when the USB cables are plugged in so you have to check these each time you switch from the two communication methods.

Game Mode Option (Smart TV)

If you are playing your PS5 on a Smart TV display then your TV may have the option called Game mode. This mode tweaks your display for games at the cost of reduced video quality but it lowers the latency which is important for gaming.

To do this, go to the General settings on your TV and see if there is a game mode option available. Switching this on can improve your latency which reduces input lag.

Play PS5 Games on a Monitor

We understand the beauty of playing games on a bigger screen. But the best way to enjoy your PS5 games is via a monitor display instead of smart TV.

Monitors have a relatively quick response time compared to a Smart TV and if you are serious about reducing input lag, invest in a good Monitor or a smart TV with a very low response time to get rid of lag issues and delays.
