Torchlight Infinite: Crafting Guide

As an ARPG looter game, weapons, armors, and accessories play an essential in progressing further through the game. This gets even more important once you reach the endgame and start mapping. This is also when crafting your own gear becomes even more relevant.

Crafting Guide in Torchlight: Infinite

As of now, there are only 3 types of crafting material you can find in the game. These are the Flame Dust, Flame Sand, and Flame Elementium. The Flame Dust is the most basic crafting material you can use to craft gear that contains 0 to 1 affix.

You can obtain it by combining Flame Residue which you can get by exchanging trash gear with the Trader.

Meanwhile, Flame Sand is the second tier of crafting material that you can use to craft gear containing 2 to 4 affixes. The highest-tier crafting material is the Flame Elementium which lets you craft gear containing 5 to 6 affixes. Both of these materials are rare and will only drop in endgame content.

How to Start Crafting Gear

To start crafting gear, you first need to have enough crafting materials with you. Then, you want to head over to the Arms Dealer and choose the Craft option. In the crafting interface, choose your base item. Ideally, you want to use high-level gear with normal rarity for the process.

After placing the item, you’ll then see a list of available Embers that you use to start the crafting process. Unlike the previous crafting materials, Embers will add various affixes to your item depending on the type. For example, the Resilience Ember will mainly add resistances to your chosen gear.

The interface will also show you the possible affixes that will get added as well as their number depending on the crafting material you use. The higher tier the material you use, the more affixes that will show up.

Once you have chosen your Ember and crafting material, simply click on the Craft button. One thing you have to keep in mind is that the gear should have empty affix slots in order to craft. If it has no available affix slots, then you won’t be able to interact with the Craft button.

Also, the number of empty affix slots available will determine the number of affixes that will get added after crafting.

Corrosion Mechanic

Torchlight: Infinite also has the Corrosion mechanic which basically adds a random effect to your gear. There are five possible outcomes during this process which can either be one of these:

• Mutate
• Chaos
• Defile
• Haughty
• Void

Each of them has its own effects which you can view in detail via Zenoth the Lightless who you can find just across the Arms Dealer. The gist here is that your gear will have a chance to receive random effects to its affixes and corrode it afterward.

If you’re unlucky, it will simply convert the item to Corroded without any changes at all.
