What Weapon You Should Play First in Splatoon 3

You can get new weapons in Splatoon 3 via the Ammo Brothers. All you need to do is earn a Sheldon License which you can get by playing online matches. However, this can take a bit of time, and while there are tons of weapons in the game, you won’t be able to get all of them early on.

Instead, you need to level up enough times to get the Licenses which you can then use to get weapons. As such, you want to carefully use your Licenses and use them only on weapons that suit your preferred playstyle.

This brings us to the best weapons you should play from the start if it’s your first time playing Splatoon 3. They’re as follows:

Splattershot

The Splattershot might just be the most popular weapon for most beginners due to how beginner-friendly it is. It features the right balance between fire rate, range, and damage.

Despite it being a bit too basic for more experienced players, if you can master this weapon from the start, you’ll eventually become a more well-rounded player in the long run.

Aerospray MG

As far as damage goes, the Aerospray might fall behind the rest of the weapons on this list. However, what it lacks in damage it makes up for in fire rate. In fact, the Aerospray MG has an incredible fire rate that lets you spread ink throughout the battlefield pretty quickly.

Not to mention, it also has a decent range which makes it a really good choice for new players. With good cover from your teammates, you’ll be able to easily take your enemies by surprise and even overwhelm them with the Aerospray MG.

Slosher

The Slosher is perfect for players who want to get up close and personal. It’s basically a bucket that’s weaponized so you can throw a bucket of paint into the battlefield. Needless to say, this weapon deals a ton of damage and is the perfect choice for those who prefer close encounters.

If you are that type of player, then this might be the one for you.

Also, the introduction of the Squid Roll mechanic in the game allows you to close the distance between you and your enemies pretty quickly. This causes your Slosher attacks to hit quite hard.

Tri-Stringer

The last weapon we have is the Tri-Stringer, though this one might be the trickiest out of all four. Nonetheless, it’s still an excellent choice of a weapon for players who are just starting out. The weapon is capable of dishing tons of damage, and you can even control a huge portion of the arena with it.

However, you might have to spend a bit more time trying to master this weapon. But of course, this can pay off quite well with enough practice and dedication.
