Xenoblade Chronicles 3: How to Unlock All Classes

There are a total of 19 classes that you can unlock in the game. Each of them has its own unique specialty that caters to different playstyles. You can either play as a melee DPS for sustained party damage, a tank for absorbing enemy hits, or a support to heal or provide assistance to your team from the backlines.

That said, each class can fall to either of the holy trinity of RPGs: tanks, DPS, and a healer. I would like to remind you that unlocking all classes can take some time, so if you’re interested, then this guide is for you.

How to Unlock All Classes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There are two important points that you need to keep in mind when unlocking a class in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. First, you have to unlock a class by completing a hero quest for a hero who has that class. For example, if you want to unlock the Flash Fencer class, you need to complete Ethel’s hero quest to do so.

Second, you have to learn the class so your other characters can actually use it. After unlocking a certain class, it will appear as a dark portrait but with its stats displayed. If it’s not yet unlocked, you will only see a silhouette without any stats.

Learning a class means you have to use a character who has that class. While Noah will automatically learn a class upon unlocking, the rest of your party won’t.

As with the previous example, if you want to use the Flash Fencer class, you should have Noah use the class during combat. Alternatively, you can just include Ethel in your party composition instead.

Each time you actively use a class, you will be able to earn points which will then eventually let you unlock it across your other characters.

• Yumsmith – Progress the story to automatically unlock this in Chapter 3
• Full Metal Jaguar – Complete the hero quest A Gray Matter in Millick Meadows, Kamos Guidepost
• Strategos – Complete the hero quest Unwavering Resolve after liberating Colony Lambda
• Stalker – Progress story to automatically unlock in Chapter 4
• Lone Exile – Complete the hero quest Wrath of Ashera
• Incursor – Complete the hero quest Her Reasons and defeat Colony Iota
• Lost Vanguard – Complete the hero quest Vandham’s Heir which you can unlock via the Guernica Vanham topic
• Signifier – Complete the quest Transparent Dreams in Conchrock Beach, Erythia Sea
• Soulhacker – Complete the hero quest Doing It My Way which involves several small quests
• Martial Artist – Progress story in order to automatically unlock
• Troubadour – Progress story and complete the Side Story: Mio quest
• Seraph – Complete the hero quest A Twist of Fate after meeting Cammuravi in Captocorn Peak, Colony Omega
• Machine Assassin – Complete the hero quest Inhumanity which you can unlock by completing a series of quests in Chapter 4
• Lifesage – Recruit Nia in the event marker somewhere in Cloudkeep, Hall of the Serene after beating the game
