Xenoblade Chronicles 3: How to Get Hero Ethel

Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s campaign is a long one, so you need every help you can get to make your entire journey a lot easier and smoother. As you travel through the world of Aionios, you will be able to come across new heroes who will offer their aid. However, you need to unlock them first.

Once unlocked, you’ll be able to switch them in and out of your party, becoming the seventh member of your team. One such hero is Ethel, who is a nimble attacker that will surely boost your party’s overall damage. If you don’t know how to unlock her, then this guide is for you.

How to Get Hero Ethel in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

In order to get the hero Ethel, you need to complete the hero quest “No Want of Courage” which you’ll automatically get upon starting Chapter 3. After starting the quest, a marked point will appear on the map which you have to go to alongside your party.

Fast travel to Galghour’s Menhir which is on the eastern part of the Fornis Region. From there, go up the hill all while dealing with any enemies you encounter. Once you reach the top, you will then find Ethel who will update your quest. She will then task you with recovering some of her supplies.

This will unlock a new area that you can see on the map. After the conversation, Ethel will join your party temporarily. Next, head over to the marked area to retrieve the Supply Drop. You can do this by fast traveling to the Wall of the Great Hand.

As you get there, you’ll come across a huge wall. You will need to climb a portion of that wall to look for a hole that will take you to Metamural Garden. Simply make your way through the tunnel until you come across a hole that you need to drop down to.

There, you’ll find a wide open area as well as a red smoke coming out of a chest. That will be where the Supply Drop is. Simply press A to open it. After obtaining the supply, you’ll also get a handful of cool items. The quest will also update and will prompt you to head back to Colony 4.

You can just fast travel to the area, and upon arriving at the checkpoint, you’ll meet Ethel there. Speak to her in order to complete the quest. This will also unlock her, allowing you to add her to your party.
