Season 6 is here for Dark and Darker, and that means it’s time for a new tier list to help define what the best class is in the game.
Of course, the best class in one mode is not necessarily the best in all modes in this game. Picking a class for solo queueing is not the same as picking one in trios, where you have to consider your party’s composition and whatnot.
As such, we’ll give you a tier list that ranks every class from best to worst in every single mode!
Best Class Tier List for Dark and Darker Season 6 | Standard Play Mode
Solo
S Tier – Ranger, Rogue. A Tier – Barbarian, Fighter, Druid, Bard. B Tier – Wizard, Warlock, Sorcerer. C Tier – Cleric.
When it comes to solo queueing, we’re ranking the classes based on their overall ability to fight against other classes. After all, you don’t really have anyone to rely on! You’re on your own, and most other players will likely be hostile from the get-go.
With that in mind, the Ranger and Rogue are easily our S tier picks. Their versatility and overall strength mean that they don’t really have any particularly bad matchups against other classes. The Ranger can easily out-range and kill most other classes, while the Rogue can outmaneuver pretty much everything. This, of course, extends to their performance in PvE, as well.
In the A tier, we’ve placed classes that are also very versatile and powerful but do have some bad matchups. For example, the Druid is overall one of the best classes currently in the game. However, they can get shut down entirely if they go up against a good Ranger or Rogue. The A tier classes need to pick their fights much more carefully, basically.
For B tier, we have the trifecta of spellcasters. They all mostly suffer from requiring specific setups and being overall slow. Other classes can simply take them out before they manage to get their spells going. This is especially true of Rangers and Rogues, which are extremely dangerous!
Lastly, the C in C Tier stands for Cleric. Mind you, the Cleric isn’t a bad class in its own right. However, it’s the class that’s most reliant on having other players as allies. Its low damage, limited options, and slow speed make it a pretty poor choice for solo players.
Duo
S Tier – Ranger. A Tier – Fighter, Rogue, Bard, Wizard, Cleric, Druid. B Tier – Barbarian, Warlock, Sorcerer.
Duo is a bit more “equal” for all classes, generally speaking. They can all work well as long as they’re paired with the right classes and both players cover for each other. Nonetheless, everything we said about the Ranger in the solo section is also true in duos! As such, they stay in the S tier in this mode too.
In fact, be ready to see the Ranger as the overall best class in all of the sections of this Dark and Darker Season 6 tier list. It’s simply the most versatile.
That aside, most classes in duos belong in the A tier. As we mentioned before, the specific pairings will be more important than the individual classes here. Fighters, Bards, Rogues, Wizards, Druids, and Clerics all pair well with every other class here. You can’t go wrong with any of them, so just play whichever you feel most comfortable with!
Worth noting here compared to solos, Rogue is a tad worse. That’s mainly due to the class simply not providing a lot for team play, compared to others. On the other hand, Wizard is much better in duos than in solo. That’s almost entirely because the second player can cover for the Wizard’s Meditation downtime.
As for the B tier, it’s mostly classes that have issues pairing well with other classes. Barbarian is outclassed by Fighter’s versatility. Sorcerer’s long cast times and cooldowns are still an issue in duos, plus you can accidentally damage your allies with your spells. Lastly, Warlock has been nerfed a lot in recent updates so it’s simply a less desirable class than others as a whole.
Trio
S Tier – Ranger, Cleric. A Tier – Barbarian, Wizard, Bard, Druid, Warlock. B Tier – Rogue, Fighter, Sorcerer.
Similar to previous lists, the Ranger remains at the top of our S Tier. It really is the best class in Season 6 of Dark and Darker, as our tier list shows!
Ranger isn’t alone in the S Tier, though. The Cleric is also a top-tier pick when playing in trios. Since the other players can make up for the Cleric’s slow speed and somewhat low damage, the Cleric can focus on healing and buffing the party. This is extremely valuable for survivability, making Cleric basically a must-have.
In our A tier, we have most of the other classes as they work well in nearly every team combination. The most notable thing here is that Barbarian is better than Fighter in trios. That’s mostly because Barbarians can better focus on tanking in trios than in duos, especially when buffed by Bards and Clerics.
Moving on to the B tier, these classes are mostly outdone by others. We already mentioned that the Fighter gets outclassed by the Barbarian, for one. As for Rogue, it doesn’t offer much for teams. Sorcerer has the same issues as it does in duos, too, so it’s outshined by the Wizard class currently. None of them are terrible, mind you! They’re just less good than others.
Dark and Darker: Best Class Tier List for Season 6 | Arena Mode – Solo Queue
S Tier – Ranger, Fighter. A Tier – Wizard, Bard, Cleric. B Tier – Sorcerer, Rogue. C Tier – Barbarian, Druid. D Tier – Warlock.
When solo-queuing in Arena, our tier list is almost entirely based on one thing: how reliant you are on other players. Since this is a 3v3 mode, you’re always paired with two other players… but not all of them will really work around your class. This is especially true at low ranks! You never know what you’re going to get when you queue up with randos, after all…
So, basically, the S tier is all the classes that rely least on teammates while D tier classes rely more on them. Unsurprisingly, the Ranger class is still shining as the best overall class in Season 6 of Dark and Darker, as shown on the tier list. It’s joined by the Fighter, which is another very solid self-reliant and versatile class.
Similarly, A tier classes are also great in pretty much every team. As always, though, you never know what to expect from your teammates. Wizard, Bard, and Cleric are all very strong in Arena but they need help from their teammates to shine. If your teammates don’t cooperate while you play as them, you will be shut down.
As for the B, C, and D tiers… well, they’re really going to depend heavily on your teammates’ performances. We consider Warlock the worst as it requires the most help from teammates to excel, but all of the low-tier classes are very team-dependent. Luck will play a big factor when you pick them!
Dark and Darker: Best Class Tier List for Season 6 | Arena Mode – Trio Queue
A Tier – Ranger, Wizard, Cleric, Bard, Druid, Warlock, Barbarian. B Tier – Rogue, Fighter. C Tier – Sorcerer.
Similar to the standard trios, playing trios in Arena is more dependent on team composition than individual class strength. Since you’re also not dealing with random teammates, you can plan things out better and ideally communicate more. As such, every class more or less is equal and belongs in the A tier.
Of course, there are exceptions to this, such as the Rogue and Fighter in B Tier. As we described in the trios section earlier, the Rogue isn’t much of a team player and the Fighter is basically outshined by the Barbarian. In fact, the Fighter is also outshined by the Warlock when it comes to Arena!
Lastly, the Sorcerer is the lone C tier class. While the Sorcerer is capable of dishing out extremely high magic damage, it’s outclassed by Wizard and Warlock. It’s also much harder to use and requires more careful play to avoid friendly fire. Frankly, it doesn’t really work well in most teams.
So, there you have it! That’s the end of our tier list for every class in every mode for Season 6 of Dark and Darker. Mind you, this is still very much just a general idea. There’s a lot of nuance to each class’ playstyles and builds. Nonetheless, we consider these tier lists a pretty accurate foundation based on the game’s current state.
