ARK Fjordur: Where to Find Karkinos | Location Guide

There are several Karkinos spawning locations across the big island in Fjordur and isolated spawns on the smaller islands.

The Karkinos is a bigger, agile variant of the crab species. It is useful for picking up wild animals and carrying them to a taming pen, as well as for combat or as a source of Organic Polymer.

This creature has an extraordinary ability to wield each of its claws independently with precision, which allows it to trap multiple prey in its hold at the same time.

The Karkinos is also an excellent war animal, as it can snatch enemy riders from their mounts. The Karkinos fight with their claws by grabbing and smashing their prey into submission.

It can also leap to great heights, jumping over rocks and even small cliffs with such a swiftness despite its large size.

Underwater

The Karkinos can generally be found underwater across the new Fjordur map. But with specificity, you can find a few Karkinos on the map, coordinates 76.6 / 64.8 right next to a massive crystal pillar underwater. So if you are a fan of the underwater, this place is a good spawning location for you.

Vanaheim

Another good spot to find these creatures is over at Vanaheim, located at Latitude 16.0 and Longitude 68.3.
