Your Ultrahand allows you to attach things together to create many contraptions in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. On top of that, you can get Autobuild to automatically rebuild things as well!

Everything you build after obtaining the Autobuild ability will be recorded as a blueprint. You can then use the ability to automatically recreate anything you’ve done before, which is way faster than doing it manually.

We’ll tell you everything you need to know about unlocking this ability in the guide below!

You can get Autobuild by speaking with the Steward Construct in the Great Abandoned Central Mine. This is one of the many areas of Hyrule’s underground known as the Depths.

The easiest and fastest way to get there is from the Great Plateau North Chasm. It’s pretty easy to spot on your map due to the red swirl of Gloom, but it’s also highlighted in this image:

We recommend bringing some Brightbloom Seeds or any other way to light up the chasm before you dive in! It’s quite dark at first.

You will want to look for the nearby Lightroot as soon as you enter the chasm, too. It’s a gigantic orange bulb to the west of the chasm. Stand under it and activate it to light up the surrounding area.

Now open your map and head directly south of the Lightroot. You should eventually approach some ruins known as the Abandoned Central Mine.

It can be hard to find your way around in the dark of the Depths, so use the images as a reference.

Approach the large ruins and you will find an Ultrahand glyph to activate a Steward Construct. Get close to it and interact with it.

How to Use this New Ability

The Steward Construct will come back to life and give you the Autobuild ability straight away! This will now record every creation you make as a Blueprint, allowing you to quickly build things you’ve done before.

You can try this out by finishing the nearby vehicle, all you need to do is to use Ultrahand to put the wheel back where it belongs! This will record it as your first blueprint.

Look opposite of the finished vehicle to find a completely broken down vehicle. Thankfully, you can repair it instantly by using your new Autobuild ability!

Now press L and use the right stick to select Autobuild on the bottom right of the ability wheel. Select the vehicle you just made from the list and then use Autobuild on the vehicle pieces.

The pieces will automatically move into their proper position, creating a perfect replica of the previous vehicle in record time! Autobuild truly is an amazing tool. Press A to confirm the build.

You can also press the Y button while you have Autobuild active to check the history of all your blueprints. There’s nothing there yet since you just got the ability, but you will be sure to fill it out with your creations.

Note that a boss battle will also trigger right after finishing this ability tutorial! You can open your map and fast-travel away if you’re not ready for it yet.

Nonetheless, now you know how to use this extremely useful new ability. Make good use of it when you need to build contraptions quickly, though do note that it may require zonaite for certain constructions.
