As you go out on an adventure in Wartales, you will come across various points of interest. Each of them offers something new waiting for you to explore. One good example is the tombs.
However, before you even decide to venture deep into any of the tombs in the game, you have to keep in mind that they’re filled with lots of strong enemies.
Due to this, you want to make sure your party is well-prepared so you can increase your chances of survival. This guide will help you out.
How to Survive the Tombs in Wartales
Before anything else, the most important thing you should do is prepare.
As mentioned, the tombs are unforgiving places filled with lots of strong enemies and traps. Also, since tombs are quite large, it will take you a while to fully clear one.
Due to this, the first thing you want to prepare is food. Try to stock up on as many foods as possible so your party can rest anytime inside a tomb if necessary.
You can start by buying ingredients from various merchants and then use them to cook meals at the cooking pot.
After securing enough food, the next thing you want to prepare is torches. The tombs are quite dark, so you’ll need torches if you want to go deeper and explore the majority of a tomb.
Same as food, you can just craft torches in your camp.
Next is medicine, which you can get by simply buying from the apothecary. You also want to bring raw materials so you can repair your gear each time they get broken.
Once you’re ready, you can then proceed to your adventure. Before you go through a tomb’s entrance, make sure to create a save first just in case things go wrong inside.
Exploring a Tomb
As soon as you head inside the tomb, you’ll come across an NPC. You will be able to recruit her by simply giving her medicine. In exchange, she’ll give you a torch and will be able to join your party as well.
Since the inside of a tomb is quite dark, we recommend giving your companions a torch as well. This way, you’ll be able to see the spot they’re moving during combat.
However, it only works if a companion has a free off-hand. Your tank won’t be able to use a torch since he’s holding a shield, and neither will your other companions who use two-handed weapons.
You can also use torches as a weapon since they deal fire damage. Surprisingly, the enemies inside the tomb are vulnerable to fire.
Engaging in Combat
Combat inside a tomb is a bit different, as what you can see in the image above. Your vision is quite limited, so without a torch, you won’t be able to see in the darkness at all.
Even with a torch equipped, you still can only see a limited range. So unless you move your units around, you won’t be able to tell where your enemies are until they get close to you.
Additional Tips
During exploration, you will come across a handful of secrets as well as treasure chests. You will be able to unlock those chests via lockpicking.
There are also locked doors that you can open by solving a small puzzle. However, in most cases, you’ll have to explore other rooms to look for clues.
If you solve a puzzle incorrectly, you’ll run the risk of injury.
