Camping is one of the most important mechanics of Wartales. It’s a place where your entire party can rest after a long day of adventure.

However, it’s also where you can make a ton of preparations.

Suffice it to say, there are a lot of things going on around the camping mechanics. And in this guide, we’ll look at what those mechanics are so you can take advantage of them.

How Camping Works in Wartales

Before anything else, let’s talk about the basics of camping and how it works in Wartales.

Basically, the camp is where you and your companions can take a rest and do stuff like eat food, craft items, and sleep in order to replenish your fatigue bar.

The camp will contain a bunch of structures that will provide a handful of bonuses, some in the form of buffs while others in the form of a production bonus when a companion is assigned to them.

That said, the type of structures you place in your camp will mostly depend on what your party currently needs.

This means you can switch your structures anytime you want depending on the mission you’re taking.

Early on, you will have to balance these structures so you can take advantage of their passive effects. You should also decide which companion you want to assign to each structure.

However, since each structure you place has a weight that adds to your carrying capacity, you should carefully choose which structure to place so you can make the most out of it.

That said, if you want to maximize the structures in your camp early on in the game, you want to focus on the tent, campfire, hitching post, workshop, and cooking pot.

Once you reach the mid-game, you’ll want to add the strategy table, tanning rack, and meat drying rack.

Unlocking Various Camping Gear

Not all camping gear will be available to you at the start of the game.

Instead, you need to locate their blueprints in various locations. Once you have their blueprints, you then need to craft them before you can place them in your camp.

As far as we know, structures like the tent, cooking pot, camp chest, and strategy table are readily available without obtaining their blueprint.

Meanwhile, structures like the tanning rack, meat drying rack, and more can either be purchased from various areas or looted from certain points of interest.
