Each of your companions in Wartales will have their own skills that they can use during combat.

However, if you want your party to be as efficient as possible, you want to pick the best skills that your companions can use.

Luckily, the game allows you to respec your skills, including that of your companions. This way, you can make them even more powerful than they are right now.

Let’s find out how you can do it.

Specialization Guide for Wartales

To start, you want to look for a Brotherhood Training Grounds. This is available in pretty much every province, with one example in Vertruse Province as shown above.

Once you’re inside, look for the hired goon and interact with him. You will notice the Respecialization option. This basically lets you respec your characters for a certain amount of gold.

This is also where you can upgrade your weapons, including legendaries.

You also want to purchase the skill manuals via the Trade window. These allow you to unlock skills that will be pretty useful for your party as you progress through the game.

After buying the skills that you want to give to your companions, you will then have the option to upgrade their current skills. To do that, head to your camp first and choose which unit you want to upgrade.

Then, you will need the Skill Mastery item. After that, open a character’s sheet and choose which skill you want to upgrade.

Once you’re done, simply right-click on Skill Mastery and click OK to upgrade the skill.

How to Respec Characters

If you’re not satisfied with your companion’s current skills, you have the option to respec them. This is pretty useful if a character has useless skills or if you want to choose a different specialization for them.

For example, you want to turn a tank companion into a warrior, and so on.

To do that, select your companion and head to the Brotherhood Training Grounds once again and talk to the hired goon. Click on the Respecialization button and go back to your camp once you’re done.

We recommend you create a save before you respec a companion so you’ll be able to revert to a previous state in case you don’t like the changes.

When you go back to your camp, your chosen companion should now be in a clean state once again. You will then be able to decide which specialization you want him to have.

Sadly, there’s no way to respec the attributes of any given character. So if you invested heavily in Constitution, for example, that means that character will always have a high health pool regardless.

In this case, you can either stick with that character, look for another character, or go back to square one.
