Now that you already have your fishing pole, it is not enough for you to go fishing. Going out to fish with just a fishing pole will just waste your time.

How to Obtain Bait

Bait can be collected by grinding a long path of grass using Flower Boots. By removing the boots and destroying the flowers, you can obtain bait. The only drawback of this method is that it is a slow process.

You can also look for critter spawns and collect them using a Bug Net. If you still don’t have a bug net, you can purchase it from the Merchant. Once you have this, you can use it to catch different critters and use it as your bait.

To successfully use your fishing pole, use the bait after equipping the fishing pole. Throw the line into any body of water, honey, or lava.
