Shooting aliens in the middle of Ancient Egypt can be a challenging task. Especially if the game keeps on acting up. If you keep getting a black screen, the game is taking forever to load, or it keeps crashing, here is what you do so you can go back to turning aliens into dust as soon as possible.
Fix Fatal Error, Crashing, Black Screen & Infinite Loading | PC – PowerSlave Exhumed
Launching the game might be an issue if your PC lacks some of the essential requirements for a game to be playable. Here are the requirements you need to launch PowerSlave Exhumed.
Minimum requirements:

OS: Windows 7 (64-bit required)
Processor: Intel or AMD Dual-Core at 2.0 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: GPU with DirectX 11 or Vulkan 1.1 support
Storage: 5 GB available space

Although, the game will work best with the recommended requirements, which are:

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent

SoundCard: 100% DirectX compatible sound card or onboard sound
If you have the obligatory requirements and PowerSlave Exhumed is still crashing or having errors, there are a few other things that you should check.
Game Files Integrity
Some of the game files may be corrupted. To verify the integrity of your files, do the following:
Go to Library on Steam;
Right-click on PowerSlave Exhumed and then on Properties;
Click Local Files option, there you will find Verify integrity of game files.
After that, launch your game and if there are still some issues with it, try one of the following solutions.
GPU Drivers and Operating System could be out-of-date
It’s to no surprise if your GPU Driver or Operating System is out-of-date.
For the Operating System, go to Windows Update Settings and check if there is anything to be updated.
You will update the GPU Driver by:
Searching and clicking on Device Manager in the Start menu;
Go to Display adapters;
Right-click your GPU;
Select Update Driver.
Administrator & Fullscreen Optimizations
Optimizing your PowerSlave Exhumed and running it as administrator might fix the errors.
Right-click on PowerSlave Exhumed;
Click on Properties and then the Compatibility tab;
Select the Run this program as an administrator option and Disable Fullscreen Optimizations afterwards;
Apply your choice and then click OK.
Allow Controlled Folder Access To The Game
Some games need to access protected folders, and Windows might not have allowed it upon installation.
Select the Windows key;
Go to Settings, then click options as follows: Update & Security, Windows Security and Virus & threat protection;
Here you will find the Manage settings option, click on it;
Find Controlled folder access and click on Manage Controlled folder access;
Turn the Controlled folder access from the On to Off option.
Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling & Power Plan
If your processor has an integrated graphics card, your PC might find it difficult to run things. Here is what you’re going to do:
Search for Graphics Settings in Start menu searcher;
Make sure that Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling is turned on;
Click Browse and find the PowerSlave Exhumed executable file;
Choose a GPU performance based option that will help your processor with the issues you’re having.
Update DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables
To ensure compatibility with some games, you will have to update or reinstall your Microsoft C++ redistributables.
Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings menu. In this window, click Update & Security;
Click Check for updates in the Windows Updates tab.
In case this doesn’t work either, go to the official Microsoft download page. Here, you will find everything you need to install to update your Microsoft C++ redistributables.
Reinstall The Game
If none of the proposed solutions worked for you, there’s nothing else to do but uninstall PowerSlave Exhumed and try installing it again. Eventually, if nothing works, try reaching out to Steam support.
