Silk is primarily acquired on the western island. The area around the NPC Lisandra is known for having lots of Spider Cocoons that can be harvested for silk. You will need Flint Shears to harvest.
Refined Wood is made at the Stonecutter. You will need wood and seeds to make it.
Fiber is mostly obtained from harvesting any plant you find. It’s an extremely common material, so you likely already have enough to spare.
When you’ve gathered the materials, build and place the Loom & Spindle. The Grapple Gun and Hook recipes will instantly unlock! Now let’s go over how to make and use them.
With your loom in place, just approach it and interact with it. Look for the Grapple Gun and Hook in the recipe list.
The Grapple Gun is technically a “ranged weapon” in this game, and the hooks are its ammo. You will need to have both if you wish to grapple around!
Both recipes will require Fiber String and Chitin. Fiber String can be made at the loom with 2 Fiber each. Chitin is obtained by killing large bugs, like beetles and lubbers.
When you have both materials, use the loom and craft a Grapple Gun and a set of hooks. Note that hooks are crafted in sets of 10.
Now set the hooks as your “arrows” and equip the Grapple Gun. Aim wherever you want and shoot your grapple gun to grapple onto it. Branches are great for this since you can easily swing from them.
Sadly, the hook and rope and very prone to breaking, which will make you fall. Due to the high fall damage in the game, using the grapple is very dangerous unless you have wings. Be careful with it!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
