Both of these armors have wings on their chest pieces, allowing you to glide! This is a huge boon to your overall mobility since it allows you to reach new places and is also very fast.

The Regal Set can be obtained earlier, so you should be aiming for it as soon as you can.

The Ironwing set should be basically treated as a late-game upgrade of the Regal set since it’s basically the same thing but with much better protection. The best protection in the game, in fact!

Note that you can not craft armor on your own, unlike tools and weapons. You will need to find different NPCs and ask them to craft it for you. Each NPC can make different sets.

Now, let’s go over how to get each of these different sets.

How to Get the Regal Armor Set

Source: JadePG – Crafted

You should aim to get this set as soon as possible. It will require a lot of chitin but can be obtained easily enough. This set has the following stats on each piece:

  • Protection +5
  • Cold Protection +3
  • Edged Resistance +3%

Additionally, as previously mentioned, the chest piece has wings that allow you to glide.

This armor set is crafted by Drustana, who can be found on the northeaster corner of the starting island. Use the picture above as a reference if you need help locating her.

You will need the following materials to craft it:

  • Regal Mantle (Head): 3 Bee Heads, 3 Chitin, and 3 Textile Patches.
  • Regal Plate (Chest): 10 Insect Wings, 12 Chitin, 6 Textile Patches, and 5 Herptile Leather.
  • Regal Vambraces (Arms): 6 Chiting, and 3 Textile Patches.
  • Regal Greaves (Legs): 9 Chitin, and 3 Textile Patches.

Due to the unique glide ability, you should prioritize crafting the chest piece first. You don’t need to wear the whole set to glide.

Once you gather all the materials, just speak with Drustana and ask her to craft the armor for you.

How to Get the Ironwing Armor Set

This set is basically a straight upgrade from the Regal set since it has the same glide function but with better stats. The stats for each piece of this set are as follows:

  • Protection +7 (head, arms, and legs)
  • Protection +8 (chest piece only)
  • Cold Protection +3
  • Edged Resistance +3%

While its cold protection is somewhat lacking, this armor set currently has the best protection in the game. Best protection and gliding? The chest piece for this set is a must-have!

This armor is only crafted by Nok, who can be found on the northwestern part of the map. He’s near Lisandra, on the broken highway. Use the map above as a reference.

As for materials, you will need to grind quite a lot for this set! Still, it’s well worth the effort. If nothing else, definitely aim to get the chest piece.

Nevertheless, the material requirements are as follows:

  • Ironwing Helmet (Head): 3 Fiber, 1 Heavy Chitin, 2 Iron Ingots, and 2 Charcoal.
  • Ironwing Breastplate (Chest): 6 Fiber, 3 Heavy Chiting, 3 Iron Ingots, 3 Insect Fur, 1 Sapphire Wings, and 2 Charcoal.
  • Ironwing Vambraces (Arms): 3 Fiber, 1 Heavy Chitin, 2 Iron Ingots, and 2 Charcoal.
  • Ironwing Greaves (Legs): 3 Fiber, 1 Heavy Chitin, 3 Iron Ingots, and 2 Charcoal.

The biggest expense for this armor will be the Heavy Chitin and Iron Ingots, so you want to start working on those refined materials as soon as possible.

Once you gather the required materials, just speak with Nok and tell him to craft the armor for you.
