A lesson in history and medieval warfare: full armored people in the field were overpowered. Swords couldn’t cut through plates, and while they were far from the perfect form of protection, having armor just made you a juggernaut in a place where others did not have the same commodity.
This wisdom extends to A Plague Tale: Requiem’s chapter 5, In Our Wake. Your opponent is fully armored and as such, you can not hurt him, you can only escape. In this guide, we will show you how to avoid your opponent.
How to Run Away from Arnaud in Chapter 5 in A Plague Tale Requiem
Avoiding Arnaud (and you need to, you cannot damage him so don’t even bother trying) is rather straightforward. As the scene fades to give into gameplay, you will be making Amicia run away from him and toward your screen.
Hold the necessary button to Sprint – do not be fooled, not because Arnaud is armored means he is slow. You need to move fast or you will be caught.
On your path there are obstacles you have to clear quickly or Arnaud will catch with you. In order, you will find a tree trunk you got to jump over and a tight spot you got to get through.
Afterward, you will come to the end of the path going backward and now there is one upwards, make the turn quickly and follow the path, at its end you will have to jump over a series of trunks disposed of as a small wall.
Amicia will slide down and hold herself on a tree to avoid falling to death. After the section is cleared and you have control again follow the path.
You will come across a right turn and at the end of the new path you will see the boat, but Arnaud will drop, blocking your way. Take the left path instead and you will get to a cave entrance.
As you fall there, there is only one way to go. Your mission is to get to the boat before Arnaud does. Despite what seems time-limited, you do not have to be on a rush there: take it at a good rhythm without running because in the first part after you crawl under the wall, two bandits will be looking out for you. It is possible to skip them via stealth so take it easy.
After the bandits, though, you will see too crow over a trunk. It doesn’t matter how stealthy you try to be there: they will be spooked and alert the bandits you just avoided, so make your run for it the second you see one of the crows flatter its wings.
All that is left is to follow the path. Take a turn to the right and scale up the wall at the end, then take another right turn, avoiding the guy that comes from the left. At the end, a scene will be triggered and you will be done with this part of the game.
