During Chapter 7: Felons, after you kill the soldier to save Sophia, you are left in front of her boat and all that remains is to get there to be free.

But things never go so smoothly. The boat is stuck. In this guide, we will teach you how to free it.

How to Free Sophia’s Boat

As you regain control from the soldier killing scene, you will find a chest around the immediate left corner to get a +1 Resin. Open it and then just head straight towards the boat with Sophia.

You will be asked by Sophia to spin the crank at the prow.

You and Arnaud will find that the crank is jammed or blocked. Go to the left side of the boat and you will see a ladder that goes down into a swarm of rams.

Get into your inventory and prepare your sling with Odoris. Shoot it to distract the rats, and go down and then up the stairs in front of you.

Run forward after you climb up the stairs to pick up +5 Pieces, and then follow the path to interact with the new crank, instructing Arnaud to turn it.

You get your sling ready to break the chain link. Arnaud will tell you so himself. Going back you need to distract the rats once again. You will see a trapdoor close to where you picked the +5 pieces, use your sling to have it open.

Right above the trapdoor is a hanging fish. Shoot it with your sling as well and the rats will jump to it, letting you use the stairs down to come back to the ship. Finish the job you started before by spinning the crank and the anchor will be up.

Head to the upper deck and interact with the rope to raise the sail.

Though it comes up, it does not do so entirely well. The sail will be tied on Amicia’s side.

You will have to get off the boat and walk to the end of the dock platform to get a good angle to shoot down the lock that is tying up the sail.

Shoot it down with your sling and a cutscene will trigger. The boat sets sail and Amicia jumps back into the ship.
