A Plague Tale Requiem: How to Clear a Path for the Boat Chapter 5

In Chapter 5 of A Plague Tale: Requiem, you finally meet back with Beatrice and Hugo. Hugo expresses worry for the safety of Amicia, but as we all know, she always makes it back. However, Joseph declares that the boat is stuck to a chain.

We need to free up the boat by removing the chain. This guide will help you clear a path for the boat.

How to Clear a Path for the Boat

When Amicia tries to move the chain, it’s clearly stuck on something. The thing that’s jamming the chain can be found under the floorboards.

To make your way under,  find an interactable wooden box. Once you find it, press the triangle button to move the wooden box to the side then go into the hole.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the place is full of rotting corpses so you will hear Amicia complain about the disgusting smell the entire time you’re there.

Once you make your way through the pile of dead bodies, you will discover that the chain is jammed by a dead body. Simply press the triangle button to remove him from the chains.

This will enable the ferry to be used. Once you’re ready, take the ferry to the other side. Amicia needs to remove the chain, somehow.

To remove the chain, you can destroy it by pointing your slingshot at the Anvil on the ceiling.

This will cause it to fall down, destroying the chain that’s under the floorboards but also destroying your way back. Doing these steps carefully will safely free the boat, making it safe for travel.
