The Hornist’s Dramatic Escape is one of the many quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s even part of a bigger quest line!
You will find a hornist stuck in a hole that he can’t figure out how to get out of. Help him out by making a flying vehicle so he can escape.
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything there is to know about this side quest.
The Hornist’s Dramatic Escape Quest Guide for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
This quest is a sub-quest of the “Serenade to Mija” side adventure, which is the quest that unlocks Great Fairy Mija near the Snowfield Stable. The entire quest takes place in the Hebra region, in the northwestern part of the map.
You need to head southwest of the Snowfield Stable, to the area around Piper Ridge. The approximate coordinates for this spot are -3666, 0764, 0118.
You will meet Eustus, the horn player, once you get there. He appears to be stuck inside a hole, and it’s your job to help him out!
A wagon is in this hole, as well. Turn this wagon into a flying machine and tell the horn player to get in, then activate it to get him out!
Thankfully, there are some Zonai devices for you to use in here. You can find a metal sheet, two balloons, two firebreathers, and two fans.
It’s up to you how you make the vehicle as long as it can carry the hornist.
However, we’ll also provide a potential solution if you don’t want to get creative with this puzzle by creating a machine yourself.
How to Make a Flying Wagon
Start by attaching the balloons to the two wooden poles sticking out the top of the wagon.
Next, attach both fans to the back of the wagon.
Lastly, grab one of the firebreathers and place it under one of the balloons. Repeat this for the other firebreather and balloon.
Grab the wagon and place it next to the hornist, trying to keep it somewhat close to the wall. It should look like the screenshot above.
Now talk with the hornist and tell him to get in the wagon, then hop on the wagon yourself.
Smack the wagon to start up the Zonai devices! The firebreathers and balloons will elevate the wagon, while the fans will push it straight out of the hole.
The hornist will thank you and give you some Courser Bee Honey. More importantly, he will return to the musicians at the Snowfield Stable!
This marks the end of the Hornist’s Dramatic Escape, but it’s only half of the Serenade to Mija quest. Head back to the stable and speak with the rest of the musicians to continue that quest.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
