Yrliet Sniper Assassin Build Guide in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

Yrliet is a unique companion in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, as she seems to have a natural affinity for the Assassin archetype and sniper rifles.

Put two and two together and you’ll be able to build Yrliet to be one of the strongest damage dealers in the game!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to turn Yrliet into a true sniper assassin.

Yrliet the Sniper Assassin Build

Yrliet Sniper Assassin Build Guide in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader - Operative locked

Similar to other builds, as the Grand Strategist Jae build, Yrliet’s first Archetype is fully set in stone when she joins you.

That means you can’t change any of her chosen talents or abilities for her Operative archetype.

Though, thankfully, Yrliet’s Operative setup is actually pretty solid for turning her into an Assassin focused on Snipers! So, as we’ve said, her second Archetype will be Assassin.

Combining the Operative and Assassin abilities will allow Yrliet to deal upwards of 500 damage for every single shot, making her an absolute beast for taking out single enemies!

You’ll want to bring her for boss fights, that’s for sure.

Your playstyle with this build will have you use Yrliet to shoot enemies from far away, hopefully taking out the biggest threats in a single shot. If they don’t die, she will at least leave them near death!

This will also make Yrliet generate lots of Momentum for your party, which is particularly useful if you have certain Officer builds in your party for extra turns.

As for gear selection, you just have to give Yrliet the best sniper rifle you can get your hands on. Thankfully, it’s a very straightforward build to gear up.

Now, let’s look at the setup for this build in the Assassin and Exemplar archetypes!

Levels 16 to 35: Assassin

As said before, we get to start building Yrliet once we spec her into the Assassin archetype. These are the choices we’ll take at each level up for this build:

Level 16 – “Seek the Opening” ability, automatically obtained once you spec into Assassin.
Level 17 – “Killing Edge” ability.
Level 18 – “Deadly Calculation” talent.
Level 19 – “Dispatch” Heroic Action.
Level 20 – “AP Increase” improvement and Agility stat increase.
Level 21 – “Lethality Heightens” talent and Agility stat increase.
Level 22 – “Lore (Xenos)” skill and “Death Whisper” ability.

Level 23 – “Outsmart” talent.
Level 24 – Agility stat increase and “Drukhari Weapon Proficiency” talent.
Level 25 – “Perfect Opening” talent.
Level 26 – Agility stat increase and “Lore (Xenos)” skill.
Level 27 – “Dispatch (Upgrade II)” improvement.
Level 28 – “It Will Not Die” and “Mortally Effective” talents.
Level 29 – Ballistic Skill stat increase and “Awareness” skill.

Level 30 – “Elusive Shadow” ability.
Level 31 – “Characteristic Training: Agility” and “Professional Acumen” talents.
Level 32 – “Awareness” skill.
Level 33 – “Imminent Demise” talent and Ballistic Skill stat increase.
Level 34 – “Characteristic Training: Ballistic Skill” talent.
Level 35 – “Dispatch (Upgrade IV)” improvement.

Levels 36 and Beyond: Exemplar

Unlike most other builds which are finished by Levels 36 or 40, this Yrliet build is truly finished once you reach Level 45. As such, we’ll go a bit further with her than most other builds.

Nonetheless, these are the recommended picks for Yrliet from levels 36 to 45:

Level 36 – “Extermination” and “Tide of Excellence” talents.
Level 37 – “Lore (Xenos)” skill and “Killing Spree” talent.
Level 38 – Agility stat increase and any talent you want to pick. “Base Skill: Lore (Xenos)” is a good choice here, but not mandatory.
Level 39 – “Tactical Knowledge” ability and “Lore (Xenos)” skill.
Level 40 – “Masterful Precision” and “Lethal Concentration” talents.

Level 41 – Agility stat increase and “Uncanny Sight” talent.
Level 42 – Any Assassin ability you wish, with “Poised to Strike” being a solid choice. Also, get a Ballistic Skill stat increase.
Level 43 – “Seize the Advantage” talent and any other talent you want. If you picked “Base Skill: Lore (Xenos)” already, it’s a good idea to get the Advanced Skill version here.
Level 44 – “Lore (Xenos)” skill and “Cataclysm” talent.
Level 45 – “AP Increase” improvement.

Your build is now done at this point, so you can have Yrliet sniping enemies with ease!
