Even for experienced players of the Warhammer series, choosing a faction to play first in Immortal Empires can be quite daunting. After all, there are roughly 23 factions in the entire game, so much so that if we’re going to talk about all of them, it will take us a long time to finish.

That said, if you’re wondering who to play first in Immortal Empires, then the answer is: it depends. Depending on your playstyle, you might even go for the least popular factions or just play the most popular one.

To help you with that, I have compiled five choices that you might want to consider. Let’s get started.

Who to Play First in Immortal Empires in Total War: Warhammer III

It goes without saying that Warhammer III is vast, with many locations, starts, and lords to choose from. This can cause any beginner to the franchise to feel overwhelmed with the choices. Obviously, there are some starts that do well than most, and that’s what we’ll cover here.

Alberic de Bordeleaux

Alberic’s campaign is something that involves chivalric heroes and fantasy knights. It’s basically what happens if Monty Python and the Holy Grail go face to face with Jurassic Park. As Alberic has found himself in the new lands of Lustria, it’s up to him to change things up a bit in order to grow the Bretonnian influence in the region.

Wood Elves

For long-time fans, it’s no secret that the Wood Elves’ campaign was one of the worst in the entire series ever since their initial release. However, everything has changed in Immortal Empires. In this one, you’ll be playing as a wood elf. Moreover, your main goal is to collect magic tree groves that you can find all throughout the world.

However, you also have to secure your territory and defend them from your enemies. Not only that, but the addition of even more magical trees makes the Wood Elf gameplay even more exciting not just from the start.

Grimgor

Grimgor is thrust into the realm of Immortal Empires, with a huge part of the area between Mountains of Mourn and World’s Edge Mountains waiting for him to conquer. As there’s virtually no one to oppose Grimgor in this area, his army can freely roam the lands and claim the barren land with very little to no resistance at all.

Pair that with the Greenskins cheap armies, and you’ll have a smooth-sailing campaign in your hands.

Mannfred von Carstein

Mannfred has always been second to Vlad in popularity due to how close they start, not to mention Vlad is just the better one, albeit just a little bit. Now, with Mannfred’s start at the area close to the Black Pyramid of Nagash, his playthrough has never become this interesting.

His new start location is in the Southlands. This will surely make for some pretty interesting campaign that fans will surely enjoy.

Lokhir Fellheart

The last one we have on the list is Lokhir Fellheart, the Krakenlord. Lokhir’s campaign back in Mortal Empires was already an interesting one. However, the new one in Immortal Empires has become way better.

In this one, Lokhir has moved to Cathay in an attempt to pillage the world. What makes his playthrough even more exciting is the fact that he’s one of the few lords to ever get a chance to start in Cathay.

Brought into the world of gaming by the time he was 10, Argie knew that gaming will bring him countless hours of fun, a thing that has never changed even up to this day. His passion for games is apparent in the articles he write, and as an expert in the genre, being able to share what he's learned, discovered, and accomplished to his fellow gamers is such an amazing opportunity.
