Every faction in Total War: Warhammer 3 is led by leaders with their own stats and bonuses influencing your armies. But, your lords can become even more powerful with specific weapons.

How to Get the Best Weapons in Total War: Warhammer 3?

Pretty much all of the best weapons in the game are quest items, meaning you’ll need to fulfill specific requirements to get them. For Katarin, Boris and Greasus this means simply getting them to Rank 7. Others will unlock a special quest battle at rank 10.

Passive and Active Abilities

Each of these special weapons you’ll unlock will have passive effects on your lord and your army. These mostly consist of attack bonuses and lower upkeep and recruitment cost. But more importantly, each weapon (except for “necrotic missiles”) will have either a passive or active ability that will have the capability to completely turn the tides of battle. Passive abilities are mostly self-explanatory, although keep in mind that the “Cauldron of the Maw” only works on the units nearby.

Active abilities are a bit more interesting though. They work similarly to spells, giving you a chance to either buff your soldiers for a few moments or use a powerful ranged attack. It make take time to learn when these abilities will help the most, but in the right hands, they might become your trump card in tough battles.
