You’ll need to start hoarding Trait Unlockstone and Trait Extraction Stone materials if you want to do anything related to Traits in Throne & Liberty.

You can use the Trait Unlockstones to unlock new Traits for your equipment. Trait Extraction Stones are, instead, used to create Extracts of your equipment and its Traits. Both of these are extremely important to make the most of your gear in the endgame, so you’ll never have enough of either stone!

In this guide, we’ll tell you every possible method to get Trait Unlockstones and Trait Extraction Stones.

How to Get Trait Unlockstone & Trait Extraction Stone | Throne & Liberty Guide

Close Mystic Portals

Mystic Portal | Throne & Liberty: How to Get Trait Unlockstone & Trait Extraction Stone Guide

The first method we’ll go over is, overall, the best one in Throne & Liberty as it can get you both the Trait Unlockstone and Trait Extraction Stone simultaneously. All you need to do is to close the Mystic Portals which appear after interacting with Mystic Globes around the world.

Contract Coin Shop Icon

First, however, you’ll need to get a Mystic Key. You need 1 Mystic Key to interact with a Mystic Globe. You can purchase Mystic Keys from all Contract Coin Merchants in the game. They are marked with a coin icon on your map, as shown above.

Mystic Key

Each Mystic Key costs 15 Contract Coins and you can only buy 5 a day. Also, each key expires 7 days after purchase, so don’t waste Contract Coins buying more keys than you need. Make sure to keep up with completing Contracts to get Contract Coins!

When you do have at least 1 Mystic Key, you need to hunt down any Mystic Globe. The map above, courtesy of the Throne and Liberty Interactive Map, shows all their locations. Once you find a Mystic Globe, interact with it and close its Mystic Portal for a chance at Trait Unlockstones and Trait Extraction Stones.

Level 50 Contract Coin Merchants

Speaking of the Contract Coin Merchants, you can also purchase Trait Unlockstones from them. However, they only start selling them once you reach Level 50. They cost 7 Contract Coins each and there’s a weekly purchase limit of 420, as well. It’s a pretty good endgame method if you have Contract Coins to burn.

Fill Out the Lithograph Book

Another good way to earn both the Trait Unlockstone and Trait Extraction Stone at once is to register equipment on the Lithograph Book in Throne & Liberty.

If you ever have any unneeded gear, register it into the Lithograph Book to work towards achieving its milestones and claiming its rewards. You can check which items you need and what rewards they offer from the book itself.

Do note, however, that registering an item will permanently delete it from your inventory. Be careful with what you register!

Open the Guild Treasure Chest

Guild Chest | Throne & Liberty: How to Get Trait Unlockstone & Trait Extraction Stone Guide

If you belong to a Guild, which you should, you can also open the Guild Treasure Chest. You can open this chest whenever you earn enough Chest Points by completing other guild activities, such as Raids. The rewards are somewhat random and depend on your Guild’s Level, but they can include rarer materials such as the Trait Unlockstones and Trait Extraction Stones.

To know more about the Guild Treasure Chest and other Guild benefits, check out our article on why you should join a Guild in Throne & Liberty.

Go Fishing

Fishing

Another solid method to get Trait Unlockstones and Trait Extraction Stones is to simply go fishing. You have a random chance to collect Sacks whenever you fish, and those Sacks have a random chance to have either type of stone within. It’s not reliable, of course, we did use the word “random” twice! Nonetheless, it’s still an easy method and can be pretty chill compared to others.

If you want to know more about fishing in this game, check out our guide on how to fish in Throne & Liberty!

Take Part in Events

Event Timetable

There are dozens of Dynamic Events every day in Throne & Liberty, and some of them can reward you with Trait Extraction Stones. To check the available events and their rewards, click on the Timetable icon while checking your map!

Craft Trait Unlockstone Bundles

Trait Unlockstone Bundle

This is a method that, as the title suggests, only works for Trait Unlockstones and it’s also intended for endgame players. You can craft Trait Unlockstone Bundles by using the Dimensional Soul Shards you get as a reward for completing Level 50 Co-op Dungeons. It’s a simple method, but extremely grindy!

Check the Ornate Coin Shop

Ornate Coin Shop

Our last method to get Trait Extraction Stones specifically is to use the in-game Shop. You can buy a total of 600 Trait Extraction Stones every month for 5 Ornate Coins each. If you need more Ornate Coins, you’ll need to pick up lore notes and the like to fill out your Collection Codex. If everything else fails, this is a solid way to get these rare stones.

Since that’s the end of our list, it’s now time to put every Trait Unlockstone and Trait Extraction Stone you get in Throne & Liberty to use. Check out our guide on every Trait-related mechanic to start spending them!
