There are a lot of optional exploration quests to complete in Throne & Liberty, and their objectives will range from simple tasks to straight up confusing and/or frustrating side activities. In this guide, we will be covering the Finding the Infiltration Route exploration side quest that will probably have you pulling your hairs for reasons that you will soon find out.

First, you have to start the quest itself by talking to Resistance Officer Fritz, who can be found just a few steps away from the Akidu Valley waypoint. Be ready, as you will be teleported to an instance as soon as you finish the brief dialogue with him!

Once he is done talking, you will find yourself in a new area separate from the main world. I hope you are mentally prepared for the frustration that will ensue, as you are now going to be doing a jumping puzzle similar to those in other MMORPGs.

The main issue with this one will be the janky nature of the game’s movement systems, as well as the desync problems that will be plaguing this instance. Anyways, your objective is to reach the Resistance Flag at the very top.

Sounds simple? Sure, but it will get very annoying soon. Go up the stairs to your right and launch yourself up the blue grapple point (Point A in the image below). From there, continue down the path and then jump off and glide so you can use the floating orange grapple point.

This will launch you towards the platforms up ahead. You will want to land away from the green totem, which will fire poison at you and push you back. There is a blue grapple point here that will get you to the upper level (Point B).

NOTE: Avoid the wooden platforms with a red circle mark on it. These are scattered throughout the course and will suddenly drop down after a brief moment if you step on it.

From this point, you will be introduced to the purple totem, which will stun you if you get too close. If you look up, you will see another floating orange grapple point. Use this to propel yourself to the wooden bridge further up.

Cross the bridge and avoid the orange totems’ fire attack (though they never did anything in my attempt). To the right will be another blue grapple point beside a purple totem that you should avoid, of course.

Up here, you will see a series of green totems. They fire in a very predictable pattern, so move when it is safe until you reach the edge, which has two different platforms. The red one, as mentioned earlier, will drop you. The yellow circle platform, however, will launch you upwards.

Jump over to the yellow platform and try your best to land on the wooden platform above. There is a floating orange grapple point here that will help you reach it if necessary. Just don’t forget to glide after launching!

This is not the only way to do this, but since this is where I landed in my attempt, this is the path we’ll be taking you on.

From up here, jump and glide across to the platform over on the opposite side of the floating orange grapple point. There is a green totem here, but we can easily avoid that. Turn back around and use the orange grapple point to reach the purple totem above.

From there, you will find a small hole in the wall. You might need to morph here (preferably something small, like the Ruffle Diatrima), but either way, go through it to proceed to the next part of the course.

Next, ascend up the wooden platforms, avoiding all of the green and orange totem projectiles along the way. Take your time, as getting pushed back here can get you stuck due to the game’s current jankiness.

It is just simple platforming from this point, really. As soon as you reach the top and climb up the rest of the tower, you will find yourself in a linear path to the end.

At the final stretch, you will eventually reach the Resistance Flag. It is guarded by two green pillars, so just wait for them to spray before running over to the flag. As long as you go past them at the right time, you should be completely safe to interact with the Resistance Flag and end the course.

After a brief moment, you will be teleported back out of the instance. You can also leave manually by clicking on the open door icon at the upper right corner of the screen, just below the minimap.

Once that is done, all that is left to do is teleport back to the Akidu Valley waypoint and then talk to Resistance Officer Fritz again to end the quest. If you made it this far, congratulations, you will also be rewarded with a new title and an alternative flying morph!

That is all there is to it for this specific side quest, which probably highlights the need for a movement system rework. If you want to try a more relaxing exploration quest that does not require this much work, you should check out our guide on how to complete the Keepsakes in the Sand codex entry next!

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
