In the early stages of Skull and Bones, you’ll need the crowbar to enter the bowels of a sinking ship. After nearly drowning, you won’t have any tools on hand and will need to first unlock the crowbar, here’s how you can get it

How to Get Crowbar

West island in Skull and Bones

The crowbar is one of the first items you will need to unlock in Skull and Bones. To access the crowbar, you will first need to follow the quest marker and make your way over to the west island, as seen in the image above.

Pirate Chief Officer

On the island, you must talk to the Pirate Chief Officer NPC. He will then require you to complete an objective. The NPC will then ask you to find the Kingpin’s contraband, which sunk along with the ship, the Exeter, and you almost drowned early.

A Pirate’s Deal

A Pirate's Deal Quest

The quest you’re given is called “A Pirate’s Deal“, it will require you to find the Kingpin’s contraband. To be exact, you must find six explosive firearms and six opulent rum on the sunk wreckage.

Once you’ve accepted the mission from the chief officer, board your ship and head to the top area of the map, as seen in the image above, or follow the quest marker.

Kingpin's contrabands

At the location, you’ll discover the Kingpin’s contraband scattered amongst broken ship parts and a giant rock. Gather the required items and make your way back to the west island.

Pirate Chief Officer

Once you’ve made your way back to the island, interact with the pirate chief officer and give him the materials you collected. He will then reward you with the crowbar and some other useful resources.

Exeter shipwreck

With the crowbar in hand, head to the Exeter shipwreck and open the locked door. The rest of the journey awaits!
