You’ve finally made it to the STARS office in Resident Evil Requiem. It’s one of those classic “take a breath” moments in the RPD, but before you get too comfortable with the nostalgia, you’ll probably notice that locked briefcase tucked away in the locker room area. It’s technically an optional puzzle, but the reward is a massive buff for your primary sidearm, so it’s well worth the detour.
Here is the step-by-step on how to track down the code and what you get for your trouble.
Step 1: The Stubborn Desk Drawer
Head into the smaller, private office within the STARS Office. You’re looking for a specific desk drawer here. Inside, you’ll find a note—Barry’s to-do list—mentioning that a library book is missing and that Wesker was the last one to have it.

- The Pro Tip: Sometimes the physics in this room can be a little finicky. If you interact with the drawer and it looks completely empty, give it a quick shot with your handgun. It sounds dramatic, but jarring the drawer usually makes the Library Card file actually spawn so you can pick it up.
- The Clue: The card confirms Wesker checked out a book titled Medicinal Benefits of Herbs.

Step 2: Browsing the RPD Library
Once you have the card, head over to the Library and make your way to the second floor.
- Cross the upper walkway toward the door that is permanently locked from the other side.
- Look at the bookshelf immediately to the right of that door.
- Interact with it to find the Medicinal Benefits of Herbs book. Inside is a hidden photograph of Rebecca Chambers in her cheerleading outfit.
- Flip the photo over to see the text: Rising Rookie Rebecca.

The STARS Briefcase Code
The code is a simple three-letter combination taken from the initials of the text Rising Rookie Rebecca on the back of the photo:
CODE: RRR
Go back to the locker room in the STARS Office, input RRR into the briefcase, and you’re good to go.

The Reward: Power Shades Charm
You’ll receive the Power Shades charm, which you can equip at any automated supply box. This is a game-changer for your Requiem Handgun because it adds two major perks:
- Bullet Penetration: Your rounds will now punch through multiple enemies. If you line up a few zombies in a hallway, you can take them all down with significantly less ammo.
- Final Round Modifier: The very last bullet in your magazine deals a massive amount of extra damage.
There’s absolutely no downside to having this equipped, so make it a priority if you’re leaning heavily on your handgun. If you’re interested in getting more charms, check out our all unlockables guide!

Sum Up
It’s a classic Resident Evil scavenger hunt—checking drawers, finding library cards, and looking at old photos. Even though you can technically just punch in “RRR” and move on, grabbing the files is great for the lore (and the completionist XP). Just remember that if that desk drawer in the office looks empty, a single bullet is usually the “key” to making the item appear.
