The Primitive Furnace is one of the most important early-game buildings in Palworld, as it can be used to turn raw ore into Ingots.

Ingots are, in turn, probably the most important material in the entire game. You’ll reach a point in the mid-game where everything will require dozens of Ingots, so you should start smelting them ASAP!

So, to help you get started, we’ll tell you how to get and use the Primitive Furnace.

How to Use the Primitive Furnace

Palworld: How to Use Primitive Furnace - Tech

First, you have to learn the recipe for the Primitive Furnace from the Technology Tree. It’s a Level 10 Technology, so it’s pretty early!

If you want to boost your levels quickly to that point, you need to grind a lot of bosses and use capture bonuses.

Anyway, learn the Technology and then use the Build Menu to make your Primitive Furnace. You’ll need to get 20 Wood, 50 Stone, and 3 Flame Organs.

You get Wood mostly from chopping down trees, Stone from mining boulders, and Flame Organs from killing or capturing Fire-type Pals.

It doesn’t matter if you kill or capture the Fire Pals, you’ll always get at least 1 Flame Organ!

Foxparks Paldeck entry

The easiest early Pal to get Flame Organs from are the Foxparks species. They are common in the autumnal area to the northwest of the starting point.

Foxparks habitat

The map above shows their habitat on the Paldeck, with the area within the red circle being the easiest one to reach.

Also, we highly recommend that you capture at least one of these Foxparks as you hunt them down for their Flame Organs. They have the Kindling Work Suitability stat, which you will need for the furnace!

Once you’ve got all the materials and at least one Foxparks, build the Primitive Furnace within your base.

Now that you’ve set up the furnace, you can just approach it and choose to smelt materials to create new items, such as Ingots and Charcoal.

You’ll need to get thousands of Ingots, on that note. If you need to get ore for them, it’s a good idea to have an automated base dedicated to mining ore.

Primitive Furnace recipes

Anyway, the last thing is that you will need to assign a Fire-type Pal with the Kindling stat to work at the Furnace as well. Thankfully, the Foxparks from before are perfectly suited for this task!

Just put the Foxparks in your base and it should automatically work at the Primitive Furnace whenever you set items for smelting.

Foxparks hard at work at the Primitive Furnace

Of course, you can get stronger Fire Pals with higher Kindling stats later on, but Foxparks will do for now.

A higher Kindling stat will make the smelting process quicker, which is nice but not really super important.

Nonetheless, now you know everything there is to know about using the Primitive Furnace in Palworld!
