Amongst the many new additions to Palworld: Feybreakis the Pal Labor Research Laboratory.
This new facility lets you complete research on various subjects. Doing so will provide passive buffs that increase how effective your Pals are when working. Faster work speed, using fewer materials, and even increasing how many items they craft at once. It’s extremely useful in the long run!
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get and use this new facility.
How to Use Labor Research Laboratory | Palworld: Feybreak
The first thing to do to use the Labor Research Laboratory in Palworld: Feybreak is to unlock and build it. You can unlock it in the Technology Tree once you reach Level 20, it only costs 2 Technology Points. To build it, you’ll need 10 Ingots and 10 Paldium Fragments.
Once you’ve built the Labor Research Laboratory, approach it and interact with it. This will bring up the Research interface. You can now select a Work Type on the left.
Next, select the upgrade you wish to research in the middle of the window. You have to go through the upgrades from top to bottom, and different upgrades will unlock different research options.
It’s obviously possible to research everything, but we recommend checking the options to decide what to prioritize first. Thankfully, the game allows you to check every single research option, even if it’s still locked for you.
After that, look at the material costs on the right side of the screen. The costs are different for every research and you can’t start research without having enough materials. Click on Begin Research right below the Research Costs when you’re ready to start.
Most research will require Ancient Pal Manuscripts. You can get them primarily by hunting down Bounty Targets and trading with Bounty Officers. As such, we recommend that youget your own Bounty Officer to make things faster!
Assigning Pals to Research
Now, the last thing you need to complete research is to assign a Pal to the Labor Research Laboratory. You need to assign a Pal that has the same Work Adaptability as the work type you’re researching. For example, you would be able to assign Anubis when researching Handiwork but not when researching Watering.
Just like other work Pals can do at base, their Work Adaptability level affects how fast they do research. The higher their Work Adaptability, the faster they’ll complete the research!
Do note, however, that Pals seem to not automatically use the Labor Research Laboratory on their own. As such, we recommend manually grabbing and assigning the Pals yourself. Alternatively, you could use a Monitoring Stand to assign them.
Once the research is completed, just return to the Pal Labor Research Laboratory to confirm it. This will unassign any Pal you assigned to research and let you start another research. Just follow the same process as before.
That’s all there is to know about how to use the Pal Labor Research Laboratory in Palworld: Feybreak. As a bonus tip, we want to let you know that the research bonus is shared across all your bases. It’s a permanent upgrade to your Pals, essentially. There’s no real reason to set up multiple research labs!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
