The Pal Surgery Table is one of the most impactful additions to Palworld and completely changes how you optimize your Pals. Before it existed, getting a Pal with the right combination of passive skills meant running hundreds of breeding attempts and hoping the RNG worked in your favor. The Surgery Table cuts through all of that by letting you implant passive skills directly into any Pal in your party, replacing whatever they currently have with exactly what you want.
Palworld 1.0 expanded the system significantly with new Disposable Implants that let you inject rare Rainbow tier passive skills directly without breeding for them, alongside a broader pool of standard implants and new passive skills tied to fishing, mutations and the World Tree. In this guide I will walk you through how to unlock and build the Pal Surgery Table, and how to get powerful implants and Rainbow Passives.
Complete Pal Surgery Table Guide
To unlock the Pal Surgery Table you need to reach Technology Level 38. Once you have it unlocked, craft one using 30 Refined Ingots, 20 High Quality Cloth and 10 Corrosive Solvent and place it at your base.
The materials are not too difficult to gather by the time you reach the required level, so it is worth building one as soon as it becomes available since it changes how you approach Pal optimization entirely.
Once the Surgery Table is set up, interact with it to open the menu. From here you can select any Pal in your party or base and view their current passive skill slots. Each passive skill can be replaced individually by selecting the slot and choosing from the implants you currently have unlocked and available.
Each operation costs Gold, so make sure you have a reasonable stockpile before sitting down to do a full passive overhaul on your best Pals. The process is straightforward once you are in the menu and lets you build exactly the passive combination you want rather than leaving it entirely up to breeding RNG.

How to Unlock Powerful Implants
If you’re looking to unlock the more powerful Pal Passive Implants, there are two main ways to obtain them.
The first is by collecting Bounty Tokens. These are earned by completing bounty related activities, and once you’ve collected enough, you can exchange them with Bounty Officers found in various towns. In return, you’ll receive different Pal Passive Implants that can be used with the Pal Surgery Table.

One important thing to keep in mind is that Pal Passive Implants are unlocked permanently. Once you’ve obtained an implant, it becomes part of your collection and can be applied to any compatible Pal through the Pal Surgery Table. You don’t need to earn the same implant again every time you want to use it on another Pal.
The second way to obtain powerful implants is through the Arena. If you haven’t visited it yet, you can find its location at approximately (632, 16), which I’ve also marked on the map below.

By participating in Arena battles, you’ll earn Battle Tickets based on your performance. These tickets can then be exchanged for a variety of Pal Passive Implants, giving you another reliable way to expand your collection.

How to Get Disposable Implants (Rainbow Passives)
With Palworld 1.0, you can now use Disposable Implants with the Pal Surgery Table to give your Pals powerful Rainbow Passive Skills, including many of the new World Tree exclusive passives.
Unlike permanent implants, Disposable Implants are consumed after use, so you’ll need a new one each time you want to apply a passive to another Pal. You can occasionally find Disposable Implants while exploring the World Tree and by opening chests in the area.
However, the most reliable way to farm them is by collecting Ancient Relics and processing them with the Ancient Relic Recycler. The recycler has a chance to convert Ancient Relics into a variety of valuable rewards, including Disposable Implants, making it the preferred farming method for players looking to optimize multiple Pals.

To unlock the Ancient Relic Recycler, you’ll need to reach Technology Level 74 and unlock it from the Technology tree. Once unlocked, it can be crafted using the following materials:
- 50 Paloxite Ingots
- 50 Mythical Wood
- 30 Ancient Civilization Parts
- 20 Ancient Civilization Cores
As for Ancient Relics, you’ll naturally collect them while exploring the World Tree. They can drop from defeated Pals, be found inside chests, and are also rewarded from several other World Tree activities. Higher rarity relics generally provide better rewards when processed through the Ancient Relic Recycler, so it’s worth saving them up before starting a recycling session.

Wrapping Up
That wraps up everything you need to know about using the Pal Surgery Table in Palworld 1.0. While unlocking the best implants and passives takes a bit of time, the system gives you far more control over your Pals than ever before.
Whether you’re creating the perfect combat companion or optimizing your base workers, the Pal Surgery Table lets you customize your Pals to better suit your playstyle. As you continue progressing through the late game and unlock more implants, you’ll be able to fine tune your strongest Pals without having to rely entirely on breeding or luck.
