The Best Ways to Farm Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld 1.0
Earlier on, before you can reach the World Tree, you’ll have to rely on Expeditions, Raid Bosses, and Oil Rigs to farm Ancient Civilization Cores.

Where to Get Orserk and How to Breed One in Palworld 1.0Jul 20, 2026You can start by unlocking the Pal Expedition Station at Technology Level 22. This lets you send Pals on Expeditions that can return with both Ancient Civilization Cores and Raid Slab Fragments.
However, it’s worth noting that not every Expedition can reward Cores. Moreover, you first have to defeat certain Tower Bosses to unlock the higher-tier Expedition routes.
As far as I know, the earliest Expedition that can reward Ancient Civilization Cores is the Astral Fallen Cavern. That said, as you defeat more Tower Bosses, you’ll unlock better Expeditions with improved Core rewards.
Always send your Pals on the highest-level Expedition available, since later Expeditions have noticeably better drop rates. As those Expeditions run in the background, you can actively farm materials elsewhere instead of waiting around.
Defeating Raid Bosses via the Summoning Altar
One of the most reliable methods to farm Ancient Civilization Cores is by defeating raid bosses which you summon via the Summoning Altar.
As you complete Expeditions, you will also obtain Slab Fragments which you then use to summon a Raid Boss. To do so, you first need to unlock the Summoning Altar via Ancient Technology at level 33.
Once you do, you have to collect four Slab Fragments of the raid boss you want to fight. You can obtain them via Expeditions or by running dungeons linked to the raid boss you want to summon.
After getting four matching fragments, combine them into a single Slab via the workbench. If you already have a Summoning Altar, simply insert the Slab into it and wait for the boss to summon.
That said, the raid bosses that can drop Ancient Civilization Cores are Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, and Blazamut Ryu.
TIP: Don’t place your Summoning Altar near your production or breeding base, as raid bosses can easily destroy them.
Farming Oil Rigs
Another reliable method to farm Ancient Civilization Cores, especially earlier on, is by farming oil rigs, specifically the level 55 oil rig.
Ancient Civilization Cores have a chance of appearing as one of the rewards from the main reward chest on the oil rig. You can get there somewhere between 1 and 5 cores, making this method one of the most reliable aside from defeating raid bosses.
You can also run the level 60 oil rig, but it seems that the level 55 version has a better chance of dropping the cores. There’s also the fact that it’s easier to run.
However, you don’t want to go there unprepared, as it’s still filled with high-level enemies and a bunch of automated weapons.
Farming Ancient Relics and Converting them to Ancient Civilization Cores
The previous methods we’ve covered are by far the fastest when it comes to farming Ancient Civilization Cores earlier on. However, once you’ve reached the World Tree, you’ll want to switch to a different one instead.
Now, instead of farming Cores directly, you’ll want to farm Ancient Relics, then convert them into Ancient Civilization Cores using the Ancient Relic Recycler.
This method is by far the fastest since Ancient Relics drop in large quantities from enemies. This means you can process dozens of them all at once.
One of the best farming spots is around the Gilded City Ruins Watchtower, thanks to its high enemy density. Simply clear groups of enemies, collect every Ancient Relic they drop, then continue looping through the area.
Also, while farming, you want to keep an eye out for special rubble piles guarded by worm-like enemies. These encounters are rare but can reward a much larger number of Ancient Relics than normal enemy groups.
You can also open treasure chests, go fishing within the World Tree region, and scavenge rubble piles. They can provide additional Relics or even Ancient Civilization Cores directly, though they’re less consistent.
Final Thoughts
Those are pretty much the best methods for farming Ancient Civilization Cores. Before you reach the World Tree, you’ll be limited to Expeditions, raid boss summoning, and oil rig farming as your main sources.
However, after you unlock the World Tree, you’ll be able to farm significantly more cores at a much faster rate. Your farming method will simply depend on your current progression in Palworld 1.0.
