Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 puts Henry in a rough spot once more, and this time he even loses his own horse. Luckily, you can get his horse, Pebbles, back for absolutely free, or at least just “free” in a sense that you are not using your own money. This guide will show you one way to get your horse back without going even more broke than Henry already is.

How to Get Pebbles Back for Free

Early in the game, you can find your horse Pebbles at the stable in Semine. Before you head over there, go and find some lockpicks first. The blacksmith at Tachov can sell you some, and you get at least one for free from a certain NPC that calls out to you early on.

Once you have a few lockpicks with you, head over to Semine and look for an NPC named Groom Ballatay, who is hanging out at the stable. He will offer to sell you Pebbles for a bit of Groschen.

If you want to get the horse back for free, wait until late night. The guy who offers to sell it for you lives in the house highlighted in the image below, and it is just a few steps away from the stable. What you are going to do is steal his money.

Once it is night time, check the windows to see if he is sleeping in the house. If he is, head to the front door and get ready to pick the lock. If you do not already know how to do this, a tutorial will pop up on your screen.

This is where multiple lockpicks come in handy, as you can try again in case you mess up and break one. Just be careful, as you might alert nearby people if you break one, which will likely force you to reload your previous save.

Once you manage to break into the bedroom, you will want to pickpocket Groom Ballatay. If you are still inexperienced, try not to go above 10 seconds while attempting to rob him. Keep doing this until you can get all of his Groschen, essentially rendering him bankrupt.

If you can manage to escape with all of his money, just wait until the next day and then go to the stable once more to buy Pebbles off of his selection. This should only cost you a bit over a hundred Groschen, and if you got all of his money, you should still have a lot left over.

And that is all there is to it. Getting your horse back for absolutely free is really just a matter of stealing from the person who is trying to sell it. This should be a nice way to train yourself in the art of sneaking and thieving, which can be a bit annoying to learn at the start of the game.
