Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has a somewhat overbearing tutorial and first mission, which can lead to some players getting stuck.
The barrage of wordy dialogues and tutorials can lead to players missing a basic aspect of the game’s functionality. This, in turn, ends up getting them stuck before the action begins!
If this is happening to you, just read on! We’ll tell you how to get unstuck and past the first mission.
How To Continue The First Mission | By the Right of Blood
The oddity that can get players stuck in this early mission happens once they meet Abelard.
At this point, your Rogue Trader will suffer an injury. This is completely unavoidable, as it’s part of the tutorial.
You’ll be told about treating injuries and using Medikits after meeting the traitor. However, not every character can actually use Medikits!
There are some prerequisites to use the Medikit, which your Rogue Trader might not meet. It depends on what you chose during character creation.
You need to have the Field Medic feature, Base Skill: Medicae, or chosen the Medicae skill advancement at least once during level up. If you don’t meet these criteria, you can’t use Medikits yourself.
So, you might feel that you’ve gotten stuck in the tutorial if you’re unable to treat your own injury with a Medikit.
After all, Abelard will not let you leave the room until the wound is treated!
If this happens, you just need to select Abelard of your Rogue Trader. Select one of his Medikits from the bottom left corner of the screen and click on your main character.
Abelard will heal your wounded protagonist, allowing you to progress the “By the Right of Blood” quest.
We don’t blame you if this little thing set you back, as it feels like it’s presented a bit oddly currently. That, and the game’s wordy beginning can be quite overwhelming to some.
Nonetheless, now you know how to progress past this first mission. Make sure to pay full attention to everything the characters say in the future, as the game is sure to have similar situations ahead!
