Just like every other area in Amphoreus, the “Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis area has a set of Golden Scapegoat puzzles for you to solve in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0.

This new type of puzzle was introduced with the 3.0 update. To solve it, you’ll have to guide a golden goat toward an altar to light it. However, it’s not that simple, as the goat’s shadow self will attack during the puzzle! Managing both your goat’s and the shadow’s movements will be crucial to winning!

If you’re ready to tackle these puzzles, read on! We’ll tell you where to find each one in the “Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis area and how to solve it.

All Abyss of Fate Janusopolis Golden Scapegoat Puzzles | Tutorial and Puzzle Basics

The “Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis area has the most Golden Scapegoat puzzles out of all of Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail. While most other areas have 4, this one has 5 puzzles for you to do. Also, note that you can’t reach all of them until you complete the Oronyx’s Scales puzzle. Also, before we go over them, we should tell you how these puzzles work in case you’re not aware.

The Golden Scapegoat puzzles are represented in the overworld by golden goat head statues. Interact with them to initiate the puzzle.

When it comes to the puzzle itself, your goal is to move your Golden Scapegoat all the way to the altar to light it.

However, a shadow of yourself will appear after a set of moves. This shadow will repeat the pattern of moves you did before it appeared and then stand still.

For example, let’s say that you have 4 moves before the shadow appears and you right, right, left, left. The shadow will appear after the second time you move left and then repeat the pattern. After that, it will stay still. Avoid colliding with your shadow or it will restart the puzzle!

Sometimes, you might need to step on colored pressure plates known as Ancient Crystalline Controllers. These will help you reach the altar. A lot of the puzzles will also require you to set up your movements so that your shadow self stands on the plate to open the path for you.

With those basics laid down, let’s now go over finding and solving every single Golden Scapegoat puzzle in this area!

“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #1

Use the book to switch time to Dawn once you enter the room and then go to the bottom right corner, marked above.

You get 5 moves before your shadow self appears in this puzzle. To start, just move to the right 5 times.

This will take you to the right bottom corner of the puzzle, on the lowest level possible.

When your shadow self appears, move to the left four times and go up the ladder. You’ll step on the blue plate in the process, allowing your shadow to get to the golden plate and stop.

Third Puzzle | Honkai Star Rail: All Abyss of Fate Janusopolis Golden Scapegoat Puzzles

This Golden Scapegoat puzzle is in the southwestern corner of F1. You can reach it most easily by going west from the Everdream Game Space Anchor.

There are a lot of ladders this time, but you only get 6 steps before the shadow appears. Simply go right 6 times.

Your shadow will appear once you fall on top of the golden barrier. Once it appears, go left once and climb the ladder up and down repeatedly. The shadow will walk past you and fall onto the golden platform before stopping.

Now, just move to the left and go down the ladder to step on the golden plate.

You can reach the Golden Scapegoat puzzle when the room is set to Dawn. Just go to the far-left corner. The Golden Scapegoat is right next to the first Hand of Zagreus terminal you used during the Oronyx’s Scales puzzle.

This time you have 5 steps before the shadow steps in. Input this sequence: right, left, left, right, left. The shadow will appear the moment you step onto the golden plate.

Once the shadow appears, input the following sequence of moves: left, right, left, right, left. Doing that will result in you being on top of the golden platform right as the shadow steps on the golden plate.

Fifth Puzzle | Honkai Star Rail: All Abyss of Fate Janusopolis Golden Scapegoat Puzzles

The last of all the Golden Scapegoat puzzles in the “Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis area in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0. This one is in the Oronyx’s Scales puzzle room, just like the previous one. You’ll have to get behind the scales while the room is set to Dawn.

You’ll immediately notice that there are a lot of golden plates on this one! Also, you get 9 moves before the shadow self appears. Fret not, though, this is a lot simpler than it looks! These should be your 9 moves: go to the right 7 times, then go left once, and right one last time.

You’ll be one step right of the lone golden plate on the bottom right when your shadow appears.
