To repair the Irisdecent Inscription, you’ll need to break the Engraved Stone Pillars around the area. However, you can only do so by either using one of the nearby Tepetlisaurus or using a Natlan-exclusive character. While you do get Kachina for free as part of the Archon Quest for Natlan, we strongly recommend using the Tepetlisaurus instead. It’s faster and you need to be quick!
The challenge will begin properly once you indwell a Tepelitsaurus or swap to a Natlan character. You can see your progress in the top middle of the screen. You’ll need to fill up the Inscription Restoration Progress bar before it fades to grey, which it does over time.
First of all, make sure to break all of the Engraved Stone Pillars on the ground level. There will be a total of 6 pillars. After breaking the 6th, you will get a notification that the Abyss interferes and your progress bar will start turning grey. It’s time to rush!
Being Faster Than The Abyss
Right after you get the notification about the Abyss, Engraved Stone Pillars will appear on the walls. Quickly dive into the Molten Fissure by the area’s entrance so that you can transform and climb the walls.
As you break the Engraved Stone Pillars on the walls, make sure to avoid the Unstable Phlogiston Crystals like the one shown above. They will explode if you attack them, which will deal damage to you and interfere with your movement.
Besides that, just make sure to keep an eye out for the quest markers in-game to continue breaking down the Engraved Stone Pillars as they pop up.
Once you finally fill up the Inscription Restoration Progress bar, a group of Rifthounds will appear to attack you. You no longer have a time limit, though, so just defeat them at your own leisure.
The Shadow Pin will grind to a halt once you deal with the Rifthounds, completing the “Repair the Inscription” step for the “Beneath the Crystal Rock” quest in Genshin Impact. You can now proceed to the next Shadow Pin in the area to continue helping Titu.
