Builds for Elden Ring showcase various combinations that are unique to each user’s playstyle. Each build differs in weapons, armor, stats, and items used by the player to achieve their objectives in battle.
How to Build a Sanguine Samurai in Elden Ring
The Sanguine Samurai is one of the best builds in Elden Ring that is available to level 150 players. It utilizes the Rivers of Blood weapon, which is one of the most hyped katanas in the Elden Ring community. Because of this, many players are hyped up and excited to use this new meta. This article will teach you the best set of equipment, talismans, and skills for the Sanguine Samurai build.
Weapons & Skills
Bleed weapons trigger a hemorrhage effect when you attack your opponent with several hits in a row, dealing massive damage. The Sanguine Samurai uses the Rivers of Blood katana, one of the strongest bleed weapons that deal both physical and fire damage. It scales off strength, dexterity, and arcane. Each point attributed in arcane increases the blood loss buildup, setting the hemorrhage effect faster. Corpse Piler is a special skill only available for the Rivers of Blood. Since the skill consumes a lot of FP, the Sacrificial Axe is a recommended off-hand weapon as it gives 4 FP for every kill.
Armor
There are a couple of headpieces that are good for this build. The Okina Mask increases your dexterity by three points while the White Mask increases your attack rating by 10% for 20 seconds every time an opponent around you suffers from blood loss. If you want to absolutely maximize your Sanguine Samurai build, go for the White Mask.
As for the rest, you can go for whatever you like as long as you don’t fat-roll. Here are some best looking armor sets in Elden Ring if you want to go for fashion.
Talismans
Talismans are accessories that give a variety of offensive, defensive, or utility effects. The Rotten Winged Sword Insignia increases your attack power which helps deal greater damage. The Carian Filigreed Crest lowers a skill’s FP consumption, allowing you to use Corpse Piler as your default attack. You can swap this out with the Green Turtle talisman during boss fights as it’s not that beneficial.
The Shard of Alexander boosts the damage of Corpse Piler by another 15%. However, this one can be pretty tricky to obtain as you’ll need to complete Iron Fist Alexander’s entire questline. If you haven’t done that yet, then now is the time to do so.
Lastly, the Lord of Blood’s Exultation boosts your overall attack rating for 20 seconds when an opponent suffers from blood loss.
Stats
Since the Sanguine Samurai build is hyperaggressive, Vigor will keep you alive as you will most likely take hits to proc bleeding. You need Mind points to increase your FP pool so that you can use Corpse Piler more frequently. Endurance gives you more stamina and allows you to have more equipment load. Meanwhile, Strength and Intelligence aren’t really needed in this build.
Additionally, you need 15 Faith for Flame, Grant Me Strength, which enhances physical and fire-affinity attack power. You may want to focus on Arcane, which increases your blood loss buildup, and Dexterity which boosts the overall damage of Corpse Piler and Rivers of Blood.
