Conan Exiles: How to Personalize Your Equipment | Illusion System Guide

Imagine having a Sword or item that you got from the DLC. The stats were pretty okay a while back but as you gained a few levels and have acquired a stronger weapon, you would have to swap it out for the new one.

Your new Sword has great stats but it doesn’t look as good as your older equipment. So you are left with using the new one even if it doesn’t look as good as your old one.

Conan Exiles has the ability to let you use your weapon and make it look like your old one through the Illusion System. In this guide, we will show you how to do it and give your Exile a much more personal feel.

To do this, you have to learn the recipe of the items you want to use. Head over to your knowledge tab and this shows you the list of items that you can use or craft.

You also need your sorcery to be unlocked since illusions are cast with magic. Head over to your basic sorcery and you need to have your arcane staff and thaumaturgy bench.

Access the Thaumaturgy Bench

Next, on the Bench, you have to place two items to form the illusion. Place the item that you want to use the stats on the source stats option and the item you want it to look like on your appearance option. Hit combine and it should be skinned for you.

Equip the weapon or armour that you have cast the illusion on and that would activate the illusion. Now, everyone around you will see the illusion item that you have on.

Restrictions

As great as the Illusion system is, it has a few restrictions. You cannot use the illusion on items that you cannot learn. So legendary items cannot be used for this. Just a little heads up in case you want to skin those on your items.
