Crowns are the currency that drives everything in Sand: Raiders of Sophie. Shop purchases, Tech Tree upgrades, and rebuilding your Trampler after a rough run all eat through them fast, and the game does not exactly hand them out generously at the start. If you are heading into expeditions without a plan for what to prioritize, you will find yourself perpetually short on funds while other players are already upgrading to stronger builds.
The good news is that there are a handful of reliable methods that pay out consistently once you know what to look for. In this guide, I will cover the best ways to earn Crowns so you can stop scraping by and start actually progressing.
Best Ways To Make Crowns
The best ways to make Crowns in SAND right now come down to finding valuable loot and selling it after a successful extraction. Among all the methods available, two things stand out and should be your main focus on every expedition you run.
Radio Boxes
Radio Boxes are scattered around the map and can be tracked down by the beeping sound they emit as you get close to one. Follow the sound to locate it and once you have it in hand, extract safely and sell it for 2000 Crowns.
That is a significant payout for a single item and makes them one of the most valuable things you can find on any given run. The one important thing to be aware of is that picking up a Radio Box immediately starts broadcasting your location to other players on the map.
The moment you grab one, let your crew know so everyone stays alert and you can move to extraction quickly without getting caught off guard.
Valuables Safes
Valuable Safes are found in various locations across the map but your best odds of finding them are in named locations such as landmarks, towns and other points of interest.
Some areas can even contain more than one safe at a time which makes them worth sweeping thoroughly rather than moving on after finding the first one.
The contents vary but safes typically contain Crowns directly alongside other valuables that you can sell for additional Crowns after extraction. Some items inside can also be used for other purposes beyond just selling, so make sure you are checking everything carefully before deciding what to keep and what to offload.

That’s It
Keep your focus on looting named locations and points of interest on every run and the Crowns will start stacking up faster than you might expect. Sell everything you do not need after each extraction to squeeze out additional income, including any spare equipment you have sitting around that is not getting used.
The one thing worth holding onto is your crafting materials. Do not sell those regardless of how tempting it might be when you are running low on Crowns, as they are needed elsewhere and replacing them later will end up costing you more in the long run.
