Taming creatures normally can take forever in ARK: Survival Ascended, especially when trying to tame Dinos… but what if there was a way to just force them to be tame?
Well, a command known as “ForceTame” is available for you to use anytime in the game! Using it will instantly turn any creature you look at into a tame one, including dinos.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to use the Force Tame feature in ARK: Survival Ascended.
How to Use Force Tame on Dinos in ARK
Force Tame is a bit of a cheat command so you can only use it freely in single-player. Thankfully, it exists in every version of ARK.
You can’t use Force Tame in multiplayer unless you’re the server’s admin, so keep that in mind. The only exception is if the server admin enabled cheats, which is rare.
Anyway, find the creature you want to use Force Tame on and look at it. When it’s inside your crosshairs, bring up the admin console.
Here are the commands to bring up the admin console on every platform:
PC – Press the TAB key anytime.
Xbox – Press LB + RB + X + Y all at the same time while the game is paused.
PlayStation – Press L1 + R1 + Square + Triangle at the same time while in the pause menu.
Switch – Similar to other consoles, pause the game then press ZL + ZR + X + Y at the same time.
Next, type “ForceTame” in the admin console and press enter.
The creature will instantly become tame for you, without having to put in any effort. Not even the mightiest of Dinos, such as the T. Rex, can resist this!
Alternatively, you can use the “ForceTameAOE <radius>” command. Just replace “<radius>” with any number you want.
ForceTameAOE will instantly tame all creatures around you within the radius you specify. You can input just “ForceTameAOE” without specifying a radius and it will use its default radius of 2000.
Anyway, now you know everything you need to Force Tame dinos and any other creature in ARK!
