The Fjordhawk is a small flyer that you can tame on the Fjordur map. It’s basically the newest shoulder pet that’s only exclusive to the new Fjordur DLC map. What makes it unique compared to other shoulder pets is that it will retrieve your items and return them to you in the event you die.

If you don’t know how to find and tame one yet, this guide is for you.

Where to Find and How to Tame Fjordhawk How to Tame Guide in ARK Fjordur

The best spot for finding a Fjordhawk is in the northwestern part of the map, specifically in the bright-colored forest. Here, you can find a wide valley where there are several Fjordhawks flying around. Due to their tiny size, it can be hard to spot them from a distance.

Hence, you’ll have to get closer to the ground in order to find one.

As opposed to most dinos and creatures in the game, the Fjordhawk is not a standard tame. Instead, you have to feed it creatures that you kill (doesn’t matter if it’s tamed or wild). The taming efficiency and progress will depend on the creature it eats.

According to people who have done some testing, Fjordhawks prefer eating larger creatures such as Diplos, Brontos, and Paracers. However, as with most carnivores in the game, meat from the Ovis will yield the fastest results.

The level of the creature doesn’t matter, so you can just feed it Level 1 creatures to tame it.
