What is Palworld?

Palworld is a multiplayer open-world creature-collecting game. Players can join their friends as they use their Pals to beat daunting bosses and complete various other tasks in a massive open-world survival sandbox. 

Palworld is being developed by PocketPair, who has experience in developing open-world survival games like Craftopia. Craftopia was also well-received by the gaming community, garnering mostly positive reviews.

If that’s any indication of what’s to come for Palworld, then it’s easy to understand why many are excited about this new game.

The game presents itself in a very cutesy aesthetic, similar to Nintendo’s recent Pokemon titles, but is a more mature game with some dark elements.

The fights can be very challenging. Players also have to deal with the struggles of food shortages and potentially harsh weather conditions.

Another interesting component of the game is that your pals aren’t only tools for violence. They also assist you in ways, ranging from acting as a mount or digging to helping you construct different structures.

Needless to say, this game has a lot of love put into it and offers a lot of potential to players fond of collecting fun creatures. With all of the different gameplay options in the game, you’ll surely find something interesting that catches your eye.

Release Date

Palworld releases in early access on the 19th of January, 2024. There is no information on the release of the full version of the game. Judging by how PocketPairs previous game Craftopia has been in early access since 2020, it’s safe to assume that Palworld will also remain in Early Access for a while.

Platform Availability

Palworld’s Early Access is confirmed to be released on PCs through Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Microsoft’s Game Pass. There is no news on its potential release on the PlayStation 4 and 5 or the Nintendo Switch. 

Pricing Details

While the exact price for Palworld is unknown, estimates place it to be around $20-$50. Based on the prices of other early access games from the same developer, it is unlikely to reach AAA prices. The price range differs depending on your region too.

The game will also be available on Game Pass if players wish to try it out without buying it for the full price.
