Apex Legends is your typical free-to-play battle-royale FPS game that hooked players early on and hasn’t fallen off quite yet. Currently, it numbers just below 100 million players. Despite its popularity, it has its issues which the developers never fixed and they continue to bug players to this day.
One such issue is the infamous error code 30005. Today, we’ll show you 4 ways you can try to fix this issue yourself. Let’s get started!
Note that this issue usually pops up when you attempt to launch the game. Two messages you might be getting are “CreateFile failed with 32” and “StartService failed with –2145452015”.
Fix No.1
The easiest solution to this issue might be to simply delete the EasyAnticheat.sys file. As you probably know, multiplayer games of this kind usually come with some anti-cheat system that you need to enable to play the game.
Deleting this file will not prevent you from playing the game, however, and will most likely solve your issue. The steps that you need to follow are:
Open File Explorer,
Go to your Apex Legends installation folder (your anti-cheat is installed in the same location),
Find the EasyAnticheat.sys file,
Delete it,
Reload Apex Legends.
Most of the time, this simple trick solves the issue. However, if that is not the case for you, move on to Fix No.2.
Fix No.2
Another reason why your game might be showing the error code 30005 is because of corrupted or missing files. This prevents the anti-cheat from working properly thus generating the aforementioned issue.
The solution is fairly simple. Follow these steps to resolve it:
Find the anti-cheat installation folder,
Run the EasyAntiCheat.exe file,
Select Apex Legends,
Click the repair option,
Reload the game.
Fix No.3
Useful as they may be, our antivirus apps sometimes block the way to enjoyable gaming sessions. Although true that they protect from threats and dangers for our precious war machines, they sometimes identify harmless files as threats. Files such as your Apex Legendsanti-cheat system. Think of it as an unnecessary allergy in human beings.
To fix this issue, temporarily disable your antivirus, reload the game, and try playing now. It should work.
Fix No.4
If everything else fails, grab a cross and attempt an exorcism. No, but for real, delete the game. Completely.
Delete every trace of the game from your PC or laptop. Once you do, install it once again and pray to the gaming gods that it works.
