Throne & Liberty offers a plethora of exploration objectives that you can do on the side whenever you get bored of the grindy gameplay loop. These will make you search for pages scattered throughout the game’s many regions, and even within instanced and open world dungeons. In this guide, we will be helping you complete the Evidence of Corruption codex entry!

Evidence of Corruption Exploration Codex Guide

In the unlikely but still possible event that you have never been to the Temple of Sylaveth, it can be found just to the northwest of Stonegard Castle. Just remember that it is area becomes a PVP zone at night!

For the Evidence of Corruption codex entry, you only have three objectives. For the first one, we have a guide on how to find the Temple of Sylaveth Record that should help you. As a quick summary, though, the note can be found in the southeast corner of the first room.

Objective #2 – Destroy the Jar of the Dead

We will skip over to the last part of the side quest first because Jars of the Dead can spawn literally anywhere in the Temple of Sylaveth. You can find them as early as the second you enter the dungeon for the first time.

They are just large, basic-looking ceramic jars that can appear all throughout this zone. They only take one normal attack to break, and the only issue you will have with this step is if there are other players that are here to do the same objective.

They can be targeted with the tab button, so if you are struggling to spot them, just spam that input and you will eventually lock onto one if there are any nearby. You need to destroy five of them in total, and here is an example of what these jars look like:

Objective #3 – Dark Specters

For the final part of this exploration quest, you will need to kill three Dark Specters. For this step, you will need to delve deeper into the dungeon until you reach the second floor.

Along the way, you might run into the Berserk Shade Wizard, which you should kill if you haven’t finished Dark Researchers yet! Once you are at the lower level, roam around the area until you find a pillar with dark blue energy surrounding it.

These are the things that will summon Dark Specters, but you need to activate them first. In order to trigger their spawn, you will need to kill nearby enemies until the orb above the pillar grows to a certain size and causes it to crumble.

Depending on where you are in the dungeon, you might need to wait for one or two more mob camp respawns before you can fully charge it. Clear them fast with area of effect to speed up the process!

Once a pillar has been fully charged, a Dark Specter will appear in its place. This enemy has an elite enemy icon (red) in the minimap, but it is really just as powerful as a regular mob. Because of this, though, you can easily find Dark Specters that other players spawned and ignored.

You will need to do this three times in order to complete the Evidence of Corruption codex entry. Assuming that nobody else is farming this dungeon at the moment (which is doubtful), you can bang out all three kills by running through the second floor rooms just one time as the pillars seem to have set spawn locations.

Whether you are in a party or completely alone, it is highly recommended that you use area of effect attacks as you can very easily pull over ten mobs at once near these pillar spawns. For example, my dagger + crossbow setup uses Annihilation Barrage Shot and Fatal Stigma for fast mob clears.

After you finish all of these objectives, you are pretty much done with Evidence of Corruption. This is also the only thing you need to complete in Temple of Sylaveth aside from the Dark Researchers exploration quest, which is incredibly straightforward and easy.

While you are here, check out our guide on how to complete the Traces of the Missing Exploration Codex entry as well. That one will have you running through the deeper floors of an open world dungeon, just like this one!
