Throne & Liberty is now out, and I’m sure you are all aware of how absolutely crowded all of the servers are right now. With all of the new players coming in, including yourself, it isn’t surprising that the game’s many mechanics are confusing a lot of people. In this guide, I will show you how to dissolve or dismantle your gear, both on PC and on console!
How to Dissolve or Dismantle Equipment
Let us get to it immediately. First, bring up your inventory and select whichever gear pieces you wish to either destroy or dissolve. From here, just click on whichever option you desire from the list on the right.
The dissolve icon is shaped like a flask, while the destroy button is, naturally, a trash can. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that dissolving will cost some Sollant depending on the rarity of the item.
Regardless of which option you choose, you will have a confirmation window, so don’t worry about accidentally breaking anything! Just keep your hands away from the Y key to avoid unintentional confirmations.
It is a little more nuanced than that, though. For example, a rare ring will only cost 2,000 Sollant to dissolve and can potentially give you up to 1x precious magic powder. On the flip side, a crossbow of the same rarity would cost double, but also have twice the potential rewards.
For Console or Controller Players
If you are on console or just prefer playing the PC version with a controller, it can be a little more confusing because these options aren’t present whenever you select an item. Instead, you need to use the options at the bottom of the inventory menu.
From the top, let’s open the inventory using our controller. This time, instead of selecting an item, press the right analog stick. By doing this, you can now select either the destroy or dissolve button at the bottom of the inventory screen, among other options.
Upon selecting either option, you will now have to select each item that you wish to destroy or dissolve. To make your life a little easier, use the right or leftbumper to view only your desired item types (such as gear).
Once you have chosen all of the items you want to dissolve or dismantle, just hold down A or X (or even B if you are using a Nintendo style controller) to confirm the process.
NOTE: You can do this method on PC as well, since these buttons are also present at the bottom of the inventory menu even while using a mouse & keyboard.
Mass Dissolve Option
This is for PC players as I couldn’t figure out how to do it with a controller, but you can mass dissolve a lot of items of the same rarity. This is a convenient option if you are drowning in useless gear, though it does not seem to be possible with the destroy option, for some reason.
To do this, open the dissolve menu however way you want. From here, click on the colored icons parallel to the “Grade” label at the dissolve menu. This will dump every single dissolvable item of the chosen rarity in the menu.
Take note, this will also include growth books and materials, as it will add everything that can be dissolved. The anvil icon, when pressed, will also add in gear that has been upgraded, as they will not be included by default.
When you add items this way, you still have to confirm the dissolve process as you normally would. Again, this is mainly for those who have a lot of junk to get rid of, so make sure you don’t accidentally melt some good gear!
And that is pretty much everything you need to know in order to start dissolving or destroying your unwanted items. On that note, don’t forget to check our guide on the easiest ways to get good gear in Throne & Liberty. It shares an important tip that will require you to keep some junk gear, so make sure to do that before you start getting rid of them this way!

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
