As you open the Solasta Crown of the Magister, you will be greeted by four empty slots when you choose a new adventure. This means that you can make up to four characters, either custom or premade, depending on your choice.

Character Creation Guide in Solasta Crown of the Magister (Races, Classes, Ability Scores)

When you build your character in Solasta, you need to take into account your choice of Race and Class. These two need to be compatible with each other for your Ability Scores. Fully utilizing your ability scores as early as character creation, can be of great help as you progress later into the game.

Ancestry Choice

The first thing you will be asked to do in creating a new character is to choose your race or ancestry. It’s alright to pick any race and choose your class first and then come back later by the time you have already decided on which race is compatible with your chosen class.

Each race offers a boost in different abilities. For example, if you want to play as a wizard, the high elf offers a plus one in intelligence. This means that the class and ancestry go well together, giving you more benefits in the game.

Classes

Each Class has a different primary ability that they need to prioritize and boost in character creation. For example, a wizard should focus on intelligence since their skills scale with the stat. Once you figure out what class you want, you can simply go back to ancestry.

Ability Scores

Assigning ability scores is arguably the most confusing part of character creation, especially if you have no prior knowledge upon starting the game. At the top, you will notice two different systems: Dice Roll and Point Buy.

With Dice Roll in Solasta, you can keep re-rolling until you see the highest score combination that you can get. But, if you want to do it manually, the Point Buy system is the way to go. It is recommended to keep your ability scores even in the early stages of the game.
