Will Palworld Support Modding & Steam Workshop?

Steam workshop mods or just unreal mods?

Palworld features a massive world to explore and over 100 Pals to tame and collect. There are countless opportunities for modders to create fun ideas about Pals and the evergrowing Palworld.

However, the ball is on the developer’s side. Will they introduce modding tools for these people or will they even offer mod support for their game?

In this short article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Palworld’s modding predicament.

Will the Game Support Modding & Steam Workshop?

Palworld will unfortunately not feature any Steam Workshop support at launch. However, the developers give some additional information in their Early Access FAQ on Steam.

For one, the game is being developed in the new Unreal Engine 5 engine. This means that the game will be easier to make mods for than it would be if Palworld used its original engine.

With some focus and dedication, players can learn to mod Palworld and modify it as they want. There are plenty of guides available on modding Unreal Engine 5 games, you could even learn it yourself!

Installing Mods from Other Sources

When installing games from third-party sources and not through Steam Workshop, be careful! It is easy to download mods from unsafe sources and ruin your game. A little bit of precaution goes a long way in the world of third-party modding!

News from the Developers

There is a second piece of good news. It is that the developers have confirmed that Steam Workshop support is something they want to add eventually.

The game is initially launching in early access. This means that many features will be added to the game over time. One of these features will be the inclusion of Steam Workshop support

Modding is a wonderful way to both customize a game to your liking and to change it in ways that make it seem like a different game altogether.

Modding support is one of the biggest factors that attract people to buy a game on a PC instead of a console. Imagine modders altering numerous Pals for the community. It makes sense that many fans are disappointed with the lack of Steam Workshop support at launch.

With the lack of any ETA or solid release date for when Steam Workshop support might be added, we are completely in the dark.

It could be added in a few months, or it could take over a year. The bottom line is that we’re gonna have to enjoy the vanilla version of the game for at least a little while.

We’re gonna have to remain patient. We should give the developers time to ensure that everything is running smoothly before they release any additional features.

With time, it is far more likely that we get a perfect version of the game, with modding and Steam Workshop support. So be patient, and we hope you still look forward to Palworld’s release this January.
